Honestly, I'm just really happy with the arcs both of these characters went through, even though it's not anything approaching conventional. It carries such a strong anti-cynical message, you don't see enough of that these days. idk.

Eh, maybe. The Knightmare doesn't exactly make a ton of sense on its own, and the New Gods are only kinda sorta aliens.

It's more implied that he knows her and Clark are banging. Also the entire movie Perry is griping Clark about wanting to do stuff about the Batman, so when shit goes down and Lois wants to go to Gotham for an undisclosed reason, he lets her. It's later confirmed when the paper cited that Clark dies in the Gotham brawl.
 
I admittedly went in with sub-zero expectations but I'm kind of shocked at how alright I thought this was. Like, it's an absolute trainwreck, particularly that first hour which was more a random collection of scenes than it was a movie, but it's a trainwreck that I found myself kind of enjoying. The cast is great, there are a handful of solid action scenes, it generally looks very good.

If this had been another hour longer, or if they had done a standalone Batman movie that led up to this - and removed the twenty minutes of pointless Iron Man 2 style "come back for Justice League!" shilling - I think it could have been kind of good, even. But yeah, as it is, it was an enjoyable trainwreck. Not sure if I'd still dig it a second time around, though.

For the first time, I'm feeling kind of excited to see where the DC stuff goes from here. (I'd be even more hopeful if Snyder wasn't still sticking around.)

Lex Luthor got killed by his son, Alexander Luthor, so the Lex we are dealing with in the movie is definitely different from what we usually have.
 
It was shit... absolute fucking trash. This shit was bad, real fucking bad. Honestly, I don't even know where to begin with how bad it was.

See, the thing is, Lex was already referring to the devil coming from the sky way the hell back during his conversation with Senator Finch in that room. He was talking about Kryptonians then. It could be that what he found out about (and was talking about at the end) was another Kryptonian threat, namely Brainiac.
 
Yeah I'm reading less into Darkseid being the first JL villain after watching this. Most of my conviction was from having to setup Cyborg's origins.

I actually have no idea where they're going next with the story. They left it really open ended, other than Bruce & Diana are going to go around and assemble a team.
 
This movie was extremely awkward.

Bruce/Batman and Alfred resulted in the only enjoyable moments.
Wonder Woman was cool but completely unnecessary to the story.
The Batman vs Superman fight was great, but a lot of retread from Dark Knight Returns.

The film felt really unpolished. The story needed a lot more work, the directing was inconsistent, and the editing was questionable.

The Knightmare was completely pointless, Bruce was already questioning Superman's merit. The Flash's warning was just flat out confusing.
Why was Batman murdering folks? That's completely out of character.
Also, Batman and Superman calling truce over both mothers named "Martha" was terrible.

As said by others, it was definitely a Darkseid reference. The parademons, the symbol, even the columns of fire shooting out of the planet in the Knightmare sequence.

It just feels rushed to have him already being referenced, but eh.

The devil in the picture looks like a Darkseid with demon wings.

What I came away with after seeing this movie was that I just want more Batman movies.

I'm not excited for anything else, and I think this Superman is a lost cause. Wonder Woman could be fun, but I'm just not invested in the character other than she's kinda cool in combat.
 
My biggest problem with the Flash thing is that if it is a teaser for what's to come, it's a terrible one because we don't know whether it is actually a teaser or not. I hate to even open the MCU can of worms, but like when we see Thanos doing something in a post-credits scene, we clearly know "Okay, something is going on here that is building to something in a later film." With this Flash thing, I've seen everything from "this was a warning for BvS" to "this was an alternate timeline" to "this is a tease for Justice League". Even if you argue that not understanding it was part of the point, then I ask why the hell you are doing it at all because the point of a tease is to get people excited, not to get them wondering if what they saw was even something to be excited about.

Yes, he first referred it about Kryptonians, but the inverted painting scenes comes after Bruce Wayne decides to find other metahumans to prepare for a future threat.

It still can be brainiac or darkseid, or both!

Won't be surprised if Justice League part 1's main villain is Braniac, who in this world is an agent of Darkseid.

Darkseid will be lurking in the shadows of part 1 manipulating behind the scenes and then be the villain in pt 2

Yah. What i mean is he is talking about threats in a general sense from outer space, which of cause will include Darkseid, considering how vague he is talking about.
 
Why not have Batman leading a future Justice League in the Knightmare dream scene and seeing them be killed off then Flash running back in time? I recognize thats a lot but what they showed was nearly indecipherable and too singleminded. Nevermind, the double take wake up double take was so terrible.

Unless you know by the casting and circumstance that is Flash, you have no clue what is going on and it sticks out. Plus he yelled for way too long.

Zack Snyder should move on from this universe.
His job wasn't easy but it should be over now, something clearly isn't clicking.

Is Ben Affleck confirmed to be directing the standalone Batman films?

Save Braniac for a solo Superman venture. Center part 1 around getting the League together and helping Aquaman un-fuck his home (ala throne of Atlantis). End with Green Lantern coming to warn everyone. Done.

Nah, we're like this close to a truly amazing movie here. It does a ton of things right that other CBMs don't even attempt, if the editing was better we'd be golden.

Oh, and the soundtrack. Really needs more upbeat tracks.
