I actually love the track, but it's hilariously out of place in the context of this movie.
made for like the sickest AMV ever though I guess

I don't understand why we got a Bruce backstory we've already seen several times, but Wonder Woman's story was ¯_(ツ_/¯
The music that started playing when Wonder Woman finally showed up made me bust out laughing
She was just a visitor in this film. They will give her origins and explain more of her abilities in the solo film.
Might have been the worst part of the movie for me, that song playing at that moment. I didn't mind Wonder Woman's expected entrance right there, but damn was that music a low point for me.The music that started playing when Wonder Woman finally showed up made me bust out laughing
This is one thing I really like about this and MoS. Watched Superman Returns for the first time a few months ago and having Lois not know Superman's identity was such shit. I totally agree. Lois is that island.I wish there was more Lois and Clark in this film. Especially since they are going for the Superman = Lois and Clark thing. It ties together back nicely to MoS when Martha Kent is comforting a young Clark.
Lois now is that island, she's his whole world and makes sure this Clark doesn't get lost to all the fear and suffering in the world. But I wish there was more of it in this film.
Why should that give me hope that Joker isn't a "deranged" Robin? If you want hope, stories are Ryan Gosling was up for Joker. They weren't casting for age, anyway.
...
- Wonder Woman. I knew she would be good and it's shitty people didn't even wait to give her a chance. Her theme song was my favourite.

Told you he was gonna quote what he thought you posted.
What do I win?
A sense of smug intellectual superiority pretty much identical to the one he's feeling right now.
That's the annoying thing about arguing with his types. He's not worth the brick wall debate that he would undoubtedly ensue so we don't do it, but he's gonna leave thinking he won by the fact that we don't see the clear fault in what was written while he does, thinking he won. It's this egotistical stalemate where both parties are assured in their rightness and annoyed the other party can't see it.
Why should that give me hope that Joker isn't a "deranged" Robin?
Honestly, the mere fact that we get to see Wonder Woman when DC (and until recently, everyone) thought female superheroes weren't worth putting on the big screen. What was so good about her? I mean she looked cool and looked like she was the least struggeling in the final fight. Almost seemed like she could have taken out Doomsday by herself.
But as someone who doesn't know much about the character, is she travelling the earth looking for monsters to kill? Like a female Batman, going undercover gathering info on suposedly evil people? Is this how she was presented in the comics?
I was dumbfounded by her just being there and interfering with Batmans stuff, then she seemed to just wanted to leave on a plane... why I'm not sure. Didn't she say she was there because of Superman? Then she decided to stay because of the fight in the news.
What was her motivation for her actions?
No worries.I totally misread your post haha. Well, maybe they also looked into casting older?...It's late. Sorry.

Her whole presentation. We finally get WW and they don't mishandle her. She's great in battle(the grin because the fight was tough) and smart enough to steal from Bruce. What was so good about her? Indeed.
Don't worry. I got exactly what you were saying in your original post. I wasn't joking when I said thanks for posting. It was a take on the film I didn't see posted anywhere else and it made me think about the film I saw in a different way.
And it had nothing to do with what he was quoting.

There's enough mystery that her movie has a lot to go off of and now we know the character.
Thanks, I appreciate that.
I like to write out stuff like this, and I'll probably do more as the film rests in my mind.
Maybe with time, the stuff Batman does will become more palatable. I would like it if the film aged better than my immediate impressions suggest.

I thought that was a cute touch, despite not liking Zeus being her dad. (I'm guessing that's what they're going with for the movies.)I did like the bit about lex talking about Zeus and so forth as if they're just simple legends and then you see them cross to her for her reaction. I found it somewhat amusing as he's talking of her father, but has no idea anyone related to him could ever possibly be in the room at all.
YES WE BACK FOR 8 FAM!WAZZY!
Hello, Fast & Furious fam! Hope all is well.
(next April, we're baaaaaaaaaack. 😀![]()
Just got out of this movie.
My god it is so bad. And I don't even dislike Man of Steel and defended it on several occasions - I just thought it was paced horribly and had scenes that didn't make sense. BVS is a whole different monster.
Spoilers below:
The Good:
1. Affleck is a fine Batman; I'm not a fan of an older Batman in the beginnings of the Justice League but he was serviceable. His fight against the gangsters is awesome but you've literally seen all 90% of it in the trailer. Him killing with no second thought is a bit jarring.
2. Jeremy Irons was good as Alfred, his banter with Bruce is good.
3. Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman was good, better that she was used sparingly so you appreciate her.
The Oh God So Bad:
1. Where to start? Superman is wooden as HELL. He literally has two facial expressions on the entire movie - a scowl or a sad face. There is not a glimpse of him being a symbol of hope that there was at least some potential he could be in Man of Steel.
2. Jessie Eisenberg as Lex. Fire the guy who cast this. I work at a tech firm in SF and Lex is basically the super eccentric guy who gets on everyone's nerves at the office. He is never really menacing and his plan makes no sense.
3. The editing and scene transitions. This may be the worst thing in the movie. Scenes are not interconnected at all and happen at random. You never get enough time to care about any of the characters because the scenes are just 5 minute intervals and keep switching off at random. SO many scenes are useless and could have been cut.
4. The dream sequences. There's a lot. They add literally nothing to the film. That Knightmare scene? It should have been completely cut. Actually there is a TON of crap in this movie that is only there for Snyder to film something that looks like an iconic comic book panel, but none of these shots have the impact of the comic because they are just randomly put together without the context. Example: Supes flies Doomsday into the sky and the government decides to nuke them - which leads to no damage at all to Doomsday, no contribution to the plot, and only serves to film Superman in the TWD walker form he has in TDKR for a few seconds.
5. The plot. There is none. Well theres like 5 but none of them lead anywhere.
6. The Justice League cameos. They're just randomly thrown there with no plot significance. Future Flash pops up in front of Bruce and he looks like a Power Ranger. Thank the heavens we have Grant Gustin in the TV universe.
7. The length. It is SO long. I actually dozed off and got mad in the first hour and a half. The title fight doesn't start until maybe the 3rd-4th act and its over in 4 minutes (you've already seen most of it in the trailer). The fight also starts and ends in the dumbest possible way. They have 0 reason to fight.
8. The overdramatic music and script. The music is like, too intense and epic for the scenes and it took me out of it. Every scene is trying hard to be poetic and iconic but they're just thrown in there, it makes for horrible dialogue.
9. Doomsday is not interesting in the least bit and could have been completely cut. So yeah I guess he is more comic accurate than I thought.
This is a movie made by a mindless DC fanboy for mindless DC fanboys. If you appreciate good story telling and a coherent plot, stay the fuck away. I can only see someone liking this on a superficial level if they enjoy the battles in the 3rd and 4th act (which have no gravitas since you do not give a single fuck about anyone in the movie).
It is maddening that a movie like this can be created in 2016. I honestly think X3 and the 2000-era Fantastic Four movies are better than this. The Russos and Singer will have to save us for the rest of 2016 - at least they have proven that they are capable of greatness, whereas Snyder's movies have only been dogshit to mediocre.
Amazing Spider-Man 2 is better than this solely because of the Aunt May scene. They're actually super similar in a LOT of ways but at least the Aunt May scene actually makes you feel something, unlike this lifeless husk of a movie.
YES WE BACK FOR 8 FAM!
When that first trailer drops I better see you in the thread.
I just about blew a blood vessel every time Batman killed someone, and his brand is a death sentence for people in prison? What the fuck?!
Partially a setup for Darkseid. Also the flash cameo was super weird. He looked odd and I still don't understand it's purpose plus the cut in after an already weird cut made it worse.
Was it setting up something in the future or did it have to do with the movie?
There's a quick shot during the fight where she's knocked back by Doomsday, and has this, "oh, so that's how its' going to be is it?" playful look on her face. (I think it was in one of the trailers.) That little moment was the most enjoyable in the film, IMO. She was allowed to be more than stern - she knew it was a tough fight but was kinda having fun with it.Oh and I loved when she finally appeared in her costume and the music played for her, and her finding the fight amusing. It was my fave bit of the whole film.

She even said something to the effect of "I've fought unstoppable beasts before." It was clearly an "I DOES THIS" moment. Bad ass.

Thanks! I saw someone else mention it but didn't know if it was confirmed.Yeah, I prefer her origin being from the earth too, but I think they figured it too out there for the films for whatever reason.
Charles Roven revealed a while back that they'll be going with Zeus as her father. You can find one of the pieces here:

Yes, that's his symbol. The weird flying things (Parademons) were also his.Was there a glowing Omega sign on the ground in the desert dream of Batman? That's also a Darkseid thing isn't it?
I only know this because I've read it here in a gaf comics thread months ago. When I looked around me in the theatre, that was completely lost on most people, to them it was just another strange sequence in the movie.

Was that the one where she was on her back with her legs spread? Between that, the revealing armor, and the dresses through the movie, I felt like Snyder was trying to play her for sex appeal. There's a quick shot during the fight where she's knocked back by Doomsday, and has this, "oh, so that's how its' going to be is it?" playful look on her face. That's fine, but it's basically plugging in holes for a movie that doesn't want them plugged. Batman absolutely kills at least 20 guys in this movie, and in the context of that character, branding someone for death isn't too far fetched.I'm pretty sure the news report states it's only happened to two guys in the past two years. Also, nobody is stated as actually dying from the brand, just some criminal with the brand got jumped and left in critical condition. Being ostracized in prison is almost like a death sentence.
I think it was supposed to show that Bruce/Batman has become a ruthless individual after the events of Man of Steel. Alfred even alludes to it in that very scene. It's just handled very poorly if that's the point they were trying to get across.
Also, the individuals receiving the brand would already be targeted in prisons anyways.
I think they mentioned that the creature was from another planet, and Wonder Woman said that she'd defeated creatures from another planet. She even said something to the effect of "I've fought unstoppable beasts before." It was clearly an "I DOES THIS" moment. Bad ass.
He shot that grenade! He helped! Maybe?Which makes Superman's death even more weightless. He didn't have to self sacrifice. Wonder Woman, given time, could have probably killed Doomsday herself.
And besides firing the Kryptonite gas grenade to soften Doomsday up, what did Batman really do in that fight? I am having a hard time remembering his contribution.
He shot that grenade! He helped! Maybe?
I actually loved how confused Bruce was during the fight. In these fights Bruce is the tactical genius. He's almost dead weight on the ground. We'll see how they handle it in Justice League.
I'm usually the first to call out unnecessary sexualization in superhero stuff, but I didn't think it was too bad? I mean, by default her costume is far more sexualized than the guys' but at this point what can you do?Was that the one where she was on her back with her legs spread? Between that, the revealing armor, and the dresses through the movie, I felt like Snyder was trying to play her for sex appeal.
She was one of my favorite parts of the movie despite that though.

It wasn't awful, but that pose did stick out to me. And yeah good point about Snyder and standards.I'm usually the first to call out unnecessary sexualization in superhero stuff, but I didn't think it was too bad? At least the camera wasn't sleazy about it.
Maybe I have lowered standards because it's Zack Snyder and by proxy, Frank Miller.
