Dark Souls III [Import OT] Kindle the fire, one last time

I'm so tempted to just get the JP version on PSN.

With the wiki help for translating, you should have minimal problems understanding what is going on. I don't speak a word of Japanese and aside from a couple things here or there, I feel I am on track just like in previous game. The game is fantastic.

Same here. Watching the stream, and I'm beginning to seriously consider it.

Question: Are you able to get PSN trophies from both JP and EN versions?

I purchased it on the Japanese PSN and am playing on my english account. Trophies are popping up with no issues. (If this is what you mean)

I don't think I was clear enough. What I wanted to know was whether you can get trophies from both versions? (e.g. getting 2 platinum trophies)

Haven't been reading many impressions because I wanted to go in pretty blind, but am dying to know how the difficulty compares to previous iterations.

With O&S being the most difficult and Asylum Demon being the easiest, where does DS3 figure in for the most part? :)

Ahh, sorry. I haven't tried playing it on the Japanese account I created to purchase it.

Oh yeah, how's durability this time around? Is the frequency of weapon breakage as high as it was in DS2?

Some weapons have higher durability than others but I have yet to even come close to worrying about a weapon breaking. At most, I deplete it down to about 75% on a long run between bonfires. Nowhere near as bad as I experienced in DS2. Again, some weapons have lower durability to begin with so I cannot speak on that but for my katana and claymore, I am having zero issues.

Only a couple bosses in, myself. Both were pretty easy, it's the regular enemies that seem tough. Get greedy for that extra hit on a guy you have beat 50 times before and he can punish you big time. Ran across a
blue eyed knight
near the end of the 1st area and he wrecked my shit in two seconds. Like, bad. I'm not the best but I didn't even have a chance to land a hit lol

FYI to anyone planning to get the PC version. GMG's SPRING20 (20% off coupon) seems to be working for anything on the site, including Dark Souls III pre-orders. I don't believe any coupons have worked (believe me, I've tried) with the game up until now.

Does anyone have any full playthrough of Lothric/Undead settlement videos? I need my fix but don't want to see any new areas and I know that even with all the demo videos no one truely explored the entirety of each area
So, I'm near the church and my character has some nasty hollow action going on. My sunbros icon is all cracked an on fire, in a bad way. Is this curse? is there any way to see that in game, icon aside?
Sounds like your just in cinder mode (which is a good thing) you have higher hp.

I imagine it's been answered several times in this thread already, but can anyone who's played a good deal comment on the interconnectedness of the world? How is it? Dark Souls level?

Feel like I missed something big, I need a
doll ____
to unlock a fog gate in the next area
Boreal Valley
and I feel stupid like I missed a hint to where it might be.

anyone knows how/where to respec?

invading covenant - from what I can tell and comments i've read, respec is a covenant reward, I joined and didn't have the option to respec so I imagine I need to offer 5 or something. Cathedral of the deep, it's pretty well hidden

I wonder if the PC version has 16:10 support. 1 & 2 did not, so they just had black bars on the top and bottom of the screen.

There are a couple of bosses near O&S difficulty, there are also some near Asylum Demon difficulty.

Boss difficulty in general is tough, but not as though as some bosses were in DS1.

I haven't read through the thread because I don't want to be spoiled, so I'm sorry if this has been answered already in the thread.

For people who LOVED Dark Souls 1 but disliked (or even hated) Dark Souls 2, how are you enjoying 3? No need to get specific or anything, I just want to know if the "feel" (ambiguous I know, sorry) is more like 1 than 2. I really disliked how washed out DS2 looked compared to 1 as well as how terribly designed most of the enemy encounters were.

Nameless King
as been wrecking me for like 5 hours now. Maybe the hardest boss in the series for me now, dethroning Orphan of Kos. And I'm level 80 with a +10 weapon.

Yes, it feels a lot like Dark Souls 1 (and Demon's Souls).

takes a long time to break, kinda like bloodborne weapons

Yeah, I've had no durability issues whatsoever. Nowhere near DS2.

For me personally, I wasn't convinced it had that "feel" during my first 10 hours, but I became convinced during the second 10.

It feels like a mix of demons, ds1, and bloodborne. It's very detailed and doesn't have that washed out look that ds2 had. I didn't really like ds2 that much and I'm loving this one.

I've been enjoying it, but it hasn't felt too hard. Don't know if it's because I have plenty of experience in that universe or what. No boss has taken me over 2 tries yet, and I've beaten five. I'm sure that'll change soon.

Question: I need some kind of d
oll
to enter a particular area. Do I only get one by beating the enemy on my tail, or is there another way to get one?

One of my big problems is upgrade materials. I don't know what I have or what I need. When I go to upgrade something at the smith, there's no icon next to what he requires, so I only know if I have it or not, I don't know what it is.

I just experienced the best boss fight in the entire Souls franchise, literally on par with King Allant

This LITERALLY, LITERALLY increased score by an entire point. Just this boss itself.

I can't fucking believe it.

Yes, it feels a lot like Dark Souls 1 (and Demon's Souls).

Demon's Soul, though, had the problem that all bosses were REALLY hard, but then all of them were also easily exploitable. To the point I don't think ANYONE has actually beaten them without tricks.

I really wish they released all the games again while also patching all the cheap exploits. Including avoiding to make strong monsters easily defeated by just letting them fall.
