Dark Souls III [Import OT] Kindle the fire, one last time

Is there a way to increase the potency of the Estus flask?

I am actually enjoying the game a lot now. Just randomly exploring is so much fun, I feel like the areas are massive.

Yes, but because i'm playing the Japanese version i don't know what item you need to do it, i didn't realise you could do it myself until recently. To increase it go to the firelink fire and it's about the 4 or 5th option down, the fire will flash and your estus will have a + next to it. I've got mine to +4 so far.

What do I do next? I can't go one way because of lava and I can't go another way without a doll.

Anyone? I just beat Old Demon King and I've been running around like an idiot for an hour. I got up to the giant crossbow and that's apparently a dead end too.

So how many bosses are there? Do we already know? Are there secret bosses? No spoilers, except the number and "yes / no" please.

Is it known whether there's more content in NG+, like extra invasions/boss souls in DS2 for example?

I've read reports that some people finish the game in
20h easily, I'm very concerned now :( Every other Souls game was 40h+ for blind playthrough, even if you were doing fine on bosses.

They're rushing. There's a ton of hidden shit in this game.

Guys my 4th boss was
abyss watchers
did I miss a boss??

Yeah

If you want to know where..

Go to the fire before the swamp, head back up the ladder, head out to where those two hostile heavy npc's were and turn right. Explore those buildings and you'll find it. The area following is easier than the area after the Abyss Watchers.

Thank you :)

I just beat
Abyss Watchers
, what a fight, took me several tries until I realized an obsolute truth about no shield melee run.

Learn to parry.

So protip: If you don't want to use a shield in DS3, use that fucking parry, only rolls won't work anymore.

How does parrying work in 3? Is it like 1 where it is instantly active or like 2 where there's a small startup delay?

Could anyone direct me to the
Watchdogs of Farron
covenant? I know its in
the swamp
(i think)

Go to the bonfire that is before the door you open extinguishing the 3 fires, then as you go from the bonfire go to the right, you'll find a tower full of slimes, keep going forward until you reach a big wall, there should be a ladder near, go up and enter the door.

I'm using the Katana parry (unlike other weapons weapon art is always active with 1 hand or 2 handed) and I'm pretty sure there's a small delay, sometimes I get hit, but I can hear the sound of using the parry.

Shame, I could never get used to the delayed parry. Looks like I'm in for a tough time then.

It's 不死の遺骨, "Remains of an undead" or whatever it's in the English version.

You throw it into the fire and get +1 to your estus flask.

no joke

Two of the bosses so far in this game has been 10/10 quality and I don't rate Souls bosses that high unless they're as good as Flamelurker and Allant

They're THAT good. So fucking good. SO FUCDKING GOOD

So happy to hear that. Boss design was the biggest complaint I had from DS2.

Find Estus Shards and bring them to Andre.
That's just to get more uses right? I mean heal more per charge, I'm only getting like a quarter of my health at the moment

I feel like HP is the most beneficial stat early on. Anyone else feel that way?
Definitely agree. End gains are too small to make a big difference early on and I'm playing a dex build and can do 6 r1s from full stamina so it's hardly an issue anyway. And I've only found 1 weapon that scales better than C so far so not seeing huge gains from the offensive stats either

I have no idea how to get this doll. Apparently it's in
Cathedral of the Deep
, and I'm guessing I have to beat the big giant there, but I can't figure out what to do.

nm I missed a door in the cathedral.

Out of curiosity for those of you who have beat the game so far. How long has it taken and did you do all content (meaning beat all bosses) to your knowledge?

I've been saying after 20 hours this is the hardest souls game ever, by a lot, but most people on gaf seem to be saying it's easy. I choose to believe my own lying eyes/hands.

Where should I go after beating the Pro
faned
Cap
ital
boss
Yohrm
? The boss fight ends at a dead and I don't know where to continue.

I can tell by watching that it is no joke. Super aggressive enemies, lots of ambushes and big damage. Perhaps it is just the areas I have watched, I don't know. But I'll of course wait and see.
