haven't tried but it's usually until +5 for those weapons. I actually need those titanites too, haven't found too many to be honest.

This is why I am taking everything anyone in this thread that is actually playing says with a silo full's worth of salt. Memory around here is extremely short sometimes. I want the game to be great, but I wanted the last two games to be great as well, and they weren't for me. I've also been on a media blackout, so the only thing I have to go off of is the earliest footage, but I wasn't impressed at all with the way the game looked. Some are saying that the level design and use of color changes for the better later on, but nothing that was previewed hints that this would be the case. If that's accurate though, it seems like a strange art direction.

Ugh. Even being well versed in these games makes it sound extremely short. If the game really is that short, then it also sounds like the item drops are less of a drip, and more of an explosion.

Mechanically it's better than dks1 in almost every way, but it thrives off of the world that dks1 built, so as a whole I don't think it can be considered better than dks1, and rightfully so.

I just started my english version play after tiring of not understanding anything in my 30 hours of JP play. yes, I double dipped. I bought the XB1 version just so I could read english.

I am doing the faith thing, intent on making faith work or finding out if it can work. going all in on faith.

I JUST NOW discovered that chimes have an art... provides a temporary buff that makes it harder to interrupt you while casting.

No, I haven't played the game because I have to wait another three weeks. So my opionion is based on videos. I'm sorry that I don't have a Xbox One or speek japanese. Still, it doesn't look that amazing (imo). GAF hype is strong....GAF hype was strong at Dark Souls 2 release, too.

I didn't like Dark Souls 2 from the jump but DS3 has been incredible so far imo. The level design in the couple of areas alone shits all over anything in DS2, even the DLC. If it keeps being this good it'll be the best of the Souls games by a mile. Might even overshadow Bloodborne depending on how things shake out.

Loving everything I hear about this game. It is sounding more and more like a greatest hits of Demon Souls, DS1&2 + Bloodborne and leaving behind any shortcomings of those titles.

I'm sure it also does a few unique things as well.

You can raise 3 of them. I think 2 are just useless but the 3rd one provides a convenient shortcut from that covenant bonfire to the boss.

Oh please. There's nowhere else to talk or read about the game, and I didn't realize that this thread had tons of videos and non spoiler tagged area pictures in it. I know how to skip posts that are veering into spoiler territory too. Also, so what if I don't take what people are saying here at face value? GAF hype gets to ridiculous levels for just about every single greatly anticipated game. You act as though I straight up said you're all lying, but that's not what I said at all.

Again, GAF memories are really short sometimes. Dark Souls 2 was not being slammed for its gameplay or world design before release. It was being slammed because of the graphics. Once it was actually released it was "OMG this is so great!" "OMG it's better than Dark Souls!" and anyone that disagreed was spat upon. That same cycle continued with Bloodborne too.

I said what I did because I feel dark souls 3 relies a lot on dark souls 1 from a story stand point. Yes, it's a stand alone story, but if dark souls 1 hadnt created the amazing world it had then the story of dark souls 3 wouldn't have had as big of an impact on me.

As I said above, it is a stand alone story, but I think people that have played dark souls 1 will definitely get more out of dark souls 3 than people just jumping into the franchise with dark souls 3

However, in my humble opinion, from a gameplay perspective dark souls 3 is better than dark souls 1.

Disclaimer: Dark souls 1 is my favorite game of all time, so feel free to disregard my opinion.
