Im going to say that for me the action at the end was better than Iron Man 3,maybe even the second. Its for sure for me better than the Last Superman. Man when the action begin, its just great.

I only saw Thor 2 once, so perhaps I'm misrembering, but wasn't there a blind date scene with Portman and some doofus that felt like a Sex and the City outtake?

Haven't seen BvS yet, but nothing in that can be as stupid as half of Thor 2. Hell, Thor 2 is the Attack of the Clones of the MCU.

It was the same about Spiderman in the CW trailer. That got the loudest pop in the theater.
 
Fuck this film, fuck the writers & director in particular.

Ben Affleck and Jeremy Irons should've just gone and made their own awesome Batman movie.

If it wasn't for others setting absurdly low expectations this might have been the most disappointing movie of all time for me.

Just came back from BvS...

I hate to see wasted potential. Like literately the movie had a bunch of interesting plot beats and scenarios but just failed to deliver. Everything about the movie imo just screamed good idea but it just sat there and never really utilized well. WB/DC need to Fire Zack Synder because he is not doing any of the material, actors, etc. justice. Pun Not intended.


Its the MGSV of Blockbuster movies except it didn't have really good gameplay to fall back on.

Agreed with last paragraph. That's the worst offense that some of these big budget movies can make. Being forgettable.

This is part of why I hate BvS so much. Ive already forgotten most of the movie and its only been a couple of days.

Well, except the trailer stuff. Because the movie is honestly more memorable with the stuff it does in line with other similar movies then where it deviates.

WW got a couple of cheers from the crowd in my theater. Lex's final scene drew a lot of laughter.

Didint saw Age of Ultron yet, so in my action mood after seeing BvS , i just start it on nextflix. And jesus, i am not hook at all by the beginning first action scene. Im not sure i want to continue it. Yop , the ending of BvS is whats make it better.

He knows Darkseid is coming because...Lex Luthor has a jar of piss.

That's the best explanation I can think of as to why he knows that something's coming.
 
Thor really doesn't age well if you compare it to the superhero films being made today, it was a bit too ashamed of the ridiculousness of its own premise. Ironically enough I think the success of Guardians of the Galaxy might give Marvel the confidence to push that stuff a bit farther, or set a movie entirely on Asgard as they should have with the second one. Comparing Thor 1 to MoS does feel like a movie that played it way too safe vs a movie that swung for the fences and missed entirely.

Natalie Portman being so catastrophically miscast is probably the biggest knock against both films, though. I was surprised they didn't kill off her character at the end of the last movie.

Well the ship was nice enough to learn English and teach Lex about thousands of civilizations. Which makes it worse since Lex knows Superman's death is going to summon even worse aliens. Granted I'm not sure why these aliens didn't attack before Superman got to earth

This very much, I teared up a bit with the scene between
Lois and Clark
before it lead into that ending. This movie is flawed and I wish they would have done more stand alone movies but it still had it great moments. I have to say that Batffleck was really damn good.
 
Wife and I just got back from seeing the movie and we enjoyed it. It was a fun movie and didn't feel like it dragged on to us.The last battle was very fun to watch and still has me pumped.

This movie was like a live action DCAU movie. I never thought I would see some of those scenes outside of a cartoon. I hope it does well because I like that DC is going a different direction with their universe. We just enjoyed this one better than the last few comic book movies we saw.

I was so bored with the first Thor movie that I actually apologized to my wife when we left the theater. Never had the slightest interest in seeing the second one. From all the trashing it gets, it sounds like I did myself a favor.

WW got huge applause at my theater, btw. But outside of an audible gasp at the ending shot, my theater was damn quiet leaving. Lol, being 2 am probably helped, but still.
 
Not sure why you guys keep bringing up Thor 1 in a thread for comic book super hero movies.

Thor 1 is a romantic comedy where the girl falls in love with the Norse god of thunder Thor. Not even in the same genre.

And Thor 2 is the romantic comedy sequel where the girl and the Norse god of thunder go on a road trip with the mischievous adopted brother for a side splitting good time.

I like the Marvel movies but outside of Cap 2 the actions feels flat compared to DC movies. It was hard for me to go back and watch Avengers and the Thor movies after MoS. I barely enjoyed Ultron and Antman for the same reasons. In MoS and BvS it feels like powerful people are fighting and I don't that satisfaction from Marvel.

I feel like both Thor directors had a pretty open and obvious contempt of the material, too. Not that they didn't try to make good movies, but it definitely seemed like they looked at the comic books and thought "how do I make this not stupid".

Also, I think the CGI in the DC movies will age very badly (not that they won't in the Marvel ones too. Ok DC fans?), especially the work done in MoS. It'll be the Linkin Park In The End music video CGI of the 2010s.
 
Asgard scenes in Thor 1 were not bad which is the most I can say for that film. Thor 2 is a turd sandwich.

Actually the more I think about AoU the more I dislike it. Ant-Man was the best Marvel film of 2015. Even the cheesy jokes were better in Ant-Man.

I can agree with this mostly. Although Iron Man 1 is incredible for many reasons. The rest of the movies almost always feel like there is no weight to the fight. Kind of like the prequels in feeling scripted and over choreographed. MoS and BvS both feel closer to the knock-down, drag-out fight from They Live, than to the rest of the CBM landscape.

Well, yeah. It means that I don't think the movie is very good. But, I feel there are more good qualities in BvS than in Thor and Thor Dark World, but less good qualities than Age of Ultron (which is also a lower tier Marvel film). Of course, this all purely my opinion.

I think i need to watch MoS one more time. Its the feeling im getting too from Marvel movies recently.

They are much better than the vast majority of bvs and overall better than mos. I'll watch the thor movies over those any day.

I also think the dislike for age of ultron is pretty crazy, i still think it's good.
 
Snyder has the ability to make powerful characters feel powerful. They have weight and impact behind them. He also does speed pretty well.
