Nakamura is such a badass.

I got caught up on Wednesday's episode yesterday. The Drifter is just the absolute worst gimmick, it's hysterical. The way he just drifts out there with his guitar and starts playing his tough road ballads... I really can't even tell what they're attempting to do with this guy, but I hope they stick with it.

I've been thinking for a while that these days the best way to be a heel is to probably actually be terrible. People end up liking heels who are good at their craft and care about what they do. If a heel wants to get heat they should try and make the fans think they don't give a shit about wrestling.

Well Hideo is there as well. I wonder how the shoulder is doing.

Meltzer said a few days ago that it's still "real messed up" but I'm not sure if he legit had any new information on that. Seems weird that there'd be no progress in months.

BTW is that Lance Hoyt? And who's between Asuka & Swagsuke?

Last year's show? This is the first year they're doing a Mania weekend show.

Also it is WWE Network

Oh I was thinking of the Takeover:Brooklyn before Summerslam. I don't know why I thought that was before Wrestlemania. Also, thanks for the info, I'll definitely be watching.

NXT did do a show last year. It just wasn't named Takeover. It was also filmed. Some of it is on the NXT greatest matches comp. It was also Vince's first time watching a live NXT show.

You can't even be terrible and ensure heel status, as plenty of terrible gimmicks just get loved anyway (ironic or otherwise): Adam Rose, Emma, Mizdow, Dean Ambrose.

The last sentence is halfway to the truth. The only means of being unanimously hated is twofold: 1) having your gimmick be "wrestling is trash, I'm here to make money" and 2) having it leaked that Vince McMahon, Kevin Dunn, or other boogeymen underneath the Daniel Bryan YES! YES! themed bed of the hardcore fans are "really high on (wrestler)" and "want to give this wrestler a push."

Brock Lesnar shows "not giving a shit about wrestling" isn't even enough.

Joe having the belt doesn't make sense

...

but Finn staying on the NXT roster doesn't make sense either.

I guess it has to go to Joe so he can drop it to Crews later.

I'm hungover as fuck, turns out once again that a night of free booze from a supplier is a terrible, terrible idea. I wish it was time for this already!

I could see Hideo Itami returning tonight to cost Finn the title
assuming Joe isn't going to up to the main roster
. That would be the best way to protect the Demon.

Very interested to see who Nakamura feuds with after tonight

A feud with Corbin would be brilliant. Corbin shitting on Japanese wrestling would be perfect

Yes, this would be excellent.

Finn staying on the NXT roster makes perfect sense. Finn becoming a dancing funk demon on the main roster doesn't.

Corbin/Nakamura would be perfect.

Corbin has definitely come around. You guys are right about how he emotes and is a jerk. Reminds me of Orton too.

I really hope Joe gets to be champion...I never thought he would be one to get pushed up to Raw though. If he did, I wish him the best, because the main roster is just too packed and I doubt they'd give him something good.

Just looking at the main roster, guys like Jericho, Taker, Shane, Triple H can all be replaced with a bunch of guys in their place. Hopefully after Mania, we can see all of these guys go away (from having matches)

Corbin and Jericho team up to get rid of all the minor league stars and rookies.

So I've never watched NXT before, but I am very much hyped for WrestleMania.

I've heard a ton of good stuff about the majority of the wrestlers on this card, and so I'd like to watch the PPV.

The only kicker is that the event starts at 3am here in the UK, do you guys think it'll be worth staying up to watch it?

Got a voicemail that the show's start time has changed from 9:00 PM (central) to 8:30 PM. Doors open at 7:00 PM.

Leaving for Dallas in about an hour!

The Drifter can stick around as long as the King of Lean can keep finding new ways to run him down over commentary. Graves going after people is one of my favorite things about NXT. Dude is great.

It'll be a great show, but I'd just avoid spoilers and watch it the next day when you're awake and refreshed.

Understandable if you don't watch wrestling often. Unforgivable if you do.

Absolutely. But I'd rather catch some zzzs early and get up early to catch it, rather than staying up till it begins and snoozing halfway through it

Pre-show at 9:30, regular show is at 10PM, still.
You talking eastern? Stop confusing everyone, Aiii.

And I'm guessing at least one of the crummy matches will take place in that 8:30-9:00 (central) pre-show window, since I got that voicemail. It'd be weird if not.

The NXT Takeover preshows are always simply hype shows, they have no in ring content on them. There may be some new promo packages, or maybe Renee will wear a nice outfit, but there will be no wrestling there.

I thought Finn stopped wearing that demon crap.

Finn does the Demon stuff for the big events, although I am kinda disappointed he (they?) settled on one style for WWE. It was much more exciting when it would adopt different personas each time he facepainted up

Isn't it like 5am?

Zayn/Nakamura probably won't be up first right? Like I'd assume it'd be later with several of those matches but I'm worried they'll put it up front to start with a bang.

I think I'm gonna try to leave work earlier at 9 so I'll miss the first 15ish minutes, would suck if I missed that though

NXT has proven they like to start with a bang, so there is a chance they could. Owens and Liger had the opening slot when they first showed up. Although, this is also Austin Aries debut, so they may do him first. My guess at the lineup would be....

1 Austin Aries vs. Baron Corbin
2 Apollo Crews vs. Elias Samson
3 The Revival vs. American Alpha
4 Bayley vs. Asuka
5 Sami Zayn vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
6 Finn Bálor vs. Samoa Joe

The Samson match is the one bad match on the card, but I dont see them opening with a dud, so give Aries the opener. Corbin ain't too bad these days either (he insulted Virgil on Wednesday which was amazing). American Alpha can hype the crowd after Samson tries to murder them. I'd put Bayley/Asuka on before Nakamura as the crowd are going to go nuts for Nakamura regardless. If they have it the other way then I could see the crowd having some fatigue for Bayley/Asuka after the Nakamura debut. Obviously, the Championship match has to be last as it should be (this is not Wrestlemania).
