The lighting in those doom screens looks really, really wrong. Is it brighter on purpose? Is it a mod or is Doom 3 BFG just brighter overall? It just looks bad (not complaining about the screenshots tho just the look of the game). Id take OG Doom 3 with sikkmod any day of the week.

It's strange how sometimes mods make a game look better (like the ones for GTA) but so many of them just seem to make the game's lighting look less natural (like the AC:Unity ones at the top of the page). Blowing out the contrast does not always = improved graphics for me.

Last couple of DOOM screens looked more like DOOM 3 though. Some of the way the lighting/shadow works are different in BFG (shadows aren't completely opaque no matter their distance to the light source for example) so for some scenes it looks very different, but with darker scenes it looks more like vanilla DOOM 3.

Are Dark Souls 3 shots okay to post yet? I've got about a week's worth, heh. I can post them in spoiler tags, or just wait until the game's out.
Out of courtesy to those of us on media blackout, it would be greatly appreciated if you used spoiler tags or waited until release date. I'd really rather not have to leave this thread for two weeks... ^^

Bleh. Timestop keeps crashing the game eventually (likely race condition between threads due to 2 of them being blocked). Impossible to track down and happens at random. Oh well...

Nice shots comrade! How did you manage to play with DSR? The game did not allow res higher than monitor native

Well, the basic idea is to run the display you're playing the game on in a DSR desktop resolution. Then the game scales properly and downsamples fine as well from that resolution. Took me some time to make it work with Steam's BP mode though as it seems to be having issues when running on a DSRed secondary screen - had to manually switch my primary monitor to the TV on which I have the BP running usually.

This trick usually work with all games which don't support proper exclusive fullscreen mode and as such can't use the DSR hack by simply selecting the high resolution.
