Guys I really want to get my nose done but I'm terrified of the pain.

I have a lot of cartlidge done all up both ears. Helix, tragus, anti-helix and on the top of my ear vertically.

Some people say they hurt more and some say it is the worst piercing they've ever had.

I know pain is relative and all but still.


Oh and I've had my belly done too.

I haven't had any ear cartilage done so I can't compare to that but I'll just say mine was only mildly painful. My eyes watered from the pain but it was nothing unbearable. It was mostly annoying in the healing process as it's super easy to bump while sleeping.

It's absolutely not the worst I've ever had though. For one it's only a single piercing so at the very least you can know that it's just one and done. I think if you've already gotten ear cartilage done it probably won't be any worse than that.

I used a reference for the molar, but had to design the nail myself. Thinking about placing it just above my elbow.

Pain is relative yes.

I got my industrial done 2 years+ ago as a first piercing. Holy shit that fucking hurt a lot. Like wow. I don't think i'd get many more of those suckers.

I just got my septum done almost 10 days ago. It barely hurt. The clamps hurt worse than the actual piercing because it was a constant pinching for 60 seconds while he pops the thing in. On a pain scale, I'd rate it less than say, stubbing your pinky toe on something.

I've been thinking about getting a back tattoo but I'm also trying to lose weight...should I hold off till I do or just say fuck it and get it done now? I'm not super huge or anything but still worried about the tattoo getting fucked up if I drop a few pounds.

Unless we're talking about extreme weight loss, you might be alright with a back tattoo. You'd be better off asking a dedicated tattoo community.

Took three hours. Very happy, especially with the cyan/blue colors.
The shoes was terrifying to sit through though, it's right at my wrist and it hurt like nothing before.

Hi, I want to get my first tattoo but I'm having a bit of a hard time getting it out of the planning phase.

Placement:
Probably covering from the shoulder blade over the shoulder till the upper biceps and maybe also going down to the chest. More or less just barely visible when wearing a T-shirt.
I have an athletic build and probably it's better to avoid the bone-y areas, although I have a high tolerance for any pressure-based pain.


all black, but preferably not too many filled areas or shadings, no motives.
Ideally the patterns would look like they spread across my body like an infection.


First of all, how would one call this kind of cyber-punk-y / digital-mechanical/biomechanical style(s):

Any idea where I could find more of those to show the tattooist?

Also, how skilled would the artist need to be to design something in that fashion and to get it done well with few bleeding lines etc.? I'm basically asking if I can go with this to someone who is not specialized in that as such a person is likely nowhere near me.
Are there more common styles that would require similar skills/designs so that I could look up a person for that?


Side note: To give it a more personal touch I was wondering if one can form patterns out of lines of very small lettered actual DNA sequence text but I don't really want to read out thousands of A, T, C, G to the poor guy/woman lol

Got my right eyebrow, right side of my nose, and tongue pierced in the last year. Planning to get the right side of my lip and an industrial piercing on my right ear done in the next year.

Most painful one would have to be the nose. Idk why. Eyebrow barely felt like anything. Tongue stung a bit coz they pierced through the scar tissue of my old one.

If it's done well, it will completely cover the old one, given that the color's dark/black. Also thinking of doing that, but probably won't yet.

my left arm is a custom beast freehanded on me roughly based on dark souls beasts, with the eye of the dragon covenant item in the middle of it. i think i'm going to add a bonfire on one side of my forearm and a hunter's mark on the other. (some of the lines look v dark because this was when part of it was fresh)

if you have a really good artist i always thought seath would be awesome, but i already have ridley from metroid so another dragon type creature felt too redundant for me. i'm waiting until i play through DS3 to commit to what i want on the lower arm though in case i find something i like more when i play it, i'd recommend the same. artorias?

In the process of getting a large design on my ribs. Finished the outline yesterday.

Holy fuck did that hurt a ridiculous amount. I grossly underestimated how painful the ribs could be.

New one's being done in ~10 days, decided for something completely different than my first idea. Ran around in DS1s Firelink and realized how recognizable it was, then searched for a bunch of screenshots and other pics, and scribbled over them. This is the draft I came up with (a layer is missing from this print, but you'll get the gist)

Will be on my upper forearm, so i can extend it with scenes, bosses and w/e from the game above it, as if the knight would "remember" things, idk.

Anyhow, my tattoo artist is also a huge Souls fan, he was super hyped lol. I gave him all the images and ideas and references and I'm trusting him to come up with a really cool version of it

My wife is buying me my next tattoos for earning tenure this year. I'm getting trees growing up my forearms. I know I'm getting a Douglas Fir on my left arm and am thinking either a Bristlecone Pine or a Redwood on my right arm. They're both going to be black and based off of scientific illustrations. I am so excited. My last tattoo was done in 1995.

Not done yet, next session will be in 10ish days, and I'm a horrible photographer. Its really hard to see since the pics turned out quite blurry, but the linework's actually really really sharp and great. Can't wait to see it done, it feels weird to run around with a half-done tattoo lol.

Hey all,
Just wanted to know if any of you has had experience with getting a leg "sleeve".

I'm planning on getting one in the coming 2 months (they say mine will take about 4 sessions and I'm planning to have 14 days between each session.
Just a reference for the placement/style of my tattoo;

And something along these lines for the colors;

From tattoo pictures I've seen online I think a black koi with 2 colorful flowers will make the tattoo look better.
I feel if I would make the koi bright orange the tattoo would be a bit messy compared to having a black fish and two brightly colored lotus flowers next to it.
Especially with the black background and a wave design. I like the idea of a black koi with highlighted edges like in the image above or something along the lines of the following tattoo;

Just wanted to know;
- Has anyone here gotten a leg sleeve tattoo and how long did it take you?
- How much time did you keep between sessions and how did the recovery go?
- I work as an English teacher so I'm on my feet most of the time at work, how much will that affect healing/pain rates?

Does anyone with a Prince Albert want to chime in with their experience? I'm the last person to get a piercing (or so you would think), but I've always been attracted to this one. I'm cut down there so I would guess that would make the procedure easier. Do you really have to sit down to pee for a while afterwards? That seems like would be a major pain in the ass.

My wife has come up with the idea of getting matching Star Wars tattoos. So apparently she wants to schedule something for next Saturday.

I'm a bit nervous? She wants to get them on our wrists. So whatever, I'm good with it. But I'm curious about how to, as a first timer, prepare. Mentally more than anything. I'm sure it's not going to feel amazing (you know because it's needles poking my skin repeatedly), but I'm trying to go into it as calmly as possible.

Tips for the newbie??

I'm sure it's not going to feel amazing (you know because it's needles poking my skin repeatedly), but I'm trying to go into it as calmly as possible.

Honestly just zone out. I end up just staring at the ceiling and getting lost in my thoughts and not think about what's happening. Getting tattoos is almost like an S curve for me. The first needle stroke is always exciting/scary and it hurts but then it starts not hurting as your brain releases endorphins. Then depending on the size, it starts hurting again lol. But then it feels good again.

I've read a lot of "eat food and drink a lot of water beforehand" comments. Why is that? And the tattoo shouldn't take more than 30-45 minutes given that it will be relatively small. If I overthink it, I'll be more nervous going in. So I'm trying to just go in with a blank headspace so I can do exactly as you said - zone out. Maybe music or a podcast if the artist is cool with it?

As daft as this sounds, remember to breathe, I've seen loads of people who forget that and end up in trouble!

Also you could take some sweets in with you, some kind of lollipop like chupa chups is good, it's keeps your sugar levels up and can take your mind off it, also if the artist doesn't mind just start chatting to them that also takes your mind off it.

Most of all just enjoy it, I find it very relaxing!

it was a normal peel, not too much. I'd talk to him but he skipped town afterwards and he's 12 hrs away
