Man this show last night was the greatest one I've ever been to live, nakamura Zayn is the greatest match I've ever witnessed live and I can't get it out of my head. I know Wrestlemania won't be able to match up but I'm still excited just for the 10x larger crowd.

Fun fact, Nakamura and Lesnar had a match once. Google it.

Asuka should have gotten more offense in during the match. I didn't mind Bayley having the advantage in the match at the start, but the last eight or so minutes should have been Asuka killing her.

Cross posting my quick TakeOver review from April Wrasslin'

Samoa Joe turns into a his crazier younger self when he get cut wide open apparently. Crowd was getting super irate with the constant medical stoppages to slow down the bleeding. "FUCK PG! FUCK PG!". Legit surprised they didn't cut the live audio during that. Match obviously could have been more with out that going on. Was really happy to see Balor go to his old NJPW body paint style, it has always looked incredible.

Nakamura vs Sami surpassed my expectations by a good bit. I figured it would be kind of laid back as his first match out...wrong. Was watching my girlfriend and she had never seen Nakamura before, but really likes Zayn. She was absolutely loving the match and just going "holy shit!" most of the way. It was extremely smart to put Nak in there with Sami, someone who can work a match like that with him and keep up. Great introduction for fans who've never seen Nakamura wrestle. Oh, and the "fight for-ev-er" chant was beautiful.

American Alpha was super fucking hype which was tons of fun. Everyone in that match was electric. Jordan being brought to tears over the victory was a pretty damn good way to end that climb to the belts.

Corbin vs Aries was decent. Corbin keeps making noticeable improvements. Aries was insanely tiny in comparison to Corbin but his "bring it motherfucker" mentality was pretty great.

Bayley vs Asuka was good. Not what I hoped it would be, but it was good. I can see they're building a feud which is perfectly fine with me. The right person won that match with the story they're telling.

My body is primed and ready for Mania now. Having some people over for beers to watch with us.

That match was shit. Lesnar kind of sucked in Japan and that was way before Nakamura became the performer he is today.

I saw his intro posted a little further up on this page and... what the hell?

He has all sorts of weird mannerisms, walks like a drunk person, does a crazy Matrix style pose in the middle of the ring... and somehow makes it all work and makes me want to watch more? Who is this man??

Any matches of his on youtube or dailymotion that I should see to bring me up to speed on why you are calling this guy the best in the world?

Please edumacate me oh gods of wrasslegaf.

Heh, i guess you don't play japanese video games and watch anime much. If you play games like king of the fighters then you will know exactly where Nakamura is coming from. It's sickeningly awesome. So glad you want to watch more though.

Please, the other said correctly. Check out his wrestle 9 matches like when he fought AJ Styles. The dude is beyond and you will probably fall in love further with AJ Styles too. :) My number one vote for AJ Styles and Nakamura to headline Wrestlemania 33.

Enjoy these amazing wrestlers putting on fantastic matches now while you can.

Next year they'll be on the main roster, jobbing to Big Shoe.

Great event. What happened to the crews/drifter match? Not complaining about it not being there but it was still odd.

-American Alpha vs The Revival
Fantastic match. Real shame about the big botch. Dash and Dawson are such a brilliant heel tag team unit.

-Corbin vs Aries
Nothing special. Nothing terrible either though.

-Nakamura vs Zayn
Really good match. Nakamura was over like hell. I hear Vince was backstage, so he heard his reception. The kick off the tornado ddt attempt was superb.

-Bayley vs Asuka
Good match with a half dead crowd after the Nakamura extravaganza. What was up with the finish though - I've seen that a few times with wwf recently, with the ref calling a finish without seemingly checking properly. What happened to the "arm up three times" consciousness check?

-Joe vs Balor
Great match. Joe seemed even more like a monster refusing the cutsman. Does he go to the main roster from here? He deserves too.

NXT TakeOvers actually tell a consistent chronological story unlike the main WWE show. So watching them in order is the way to go.

Zayn/Nakamura was unbelievable. As amazing as they were, the crowd played a huge part in making that fight feel as big as it did.

I wish the crowd would have celebrated Asuka's victory a bit more though. She definitely deserves it for elevating practically every aspect of the women's game the way she has.

Wanted to see Joe win. Balor bores the shit out of me. In the ring, his shifting persona, everything. He deserves Raw.

Crowd was never going to cheer that much when Asuka is beating one of the most widely beloved faces in the company. I think they reacted like I thought most crowds would. There was a sound of shock when Bayley passed out which I thought was great.

Asuka did kill the ultimate baby face though.

That was a great ending. But yeah, the reaction makes sense. Guess I'm just an Asuka stan.

You mean Ramen Rains.

Gotta make him look strong and get him over, and what better way than to feed the over guys to him?

One thing I will say is that Nakamura's knees at the end looked like they kinda whiffed, especially the one to the back of Zayn's head. The Kinshasa itself too looked a mile off, with the camera angle changing as soon as it made contact.

Doing a out of nowhere roll up win can be good when done right (corban v aries) and it can be anti climactic and fall flat (Joe versus Balor)

Dont know why they allowed the same finish twice on the same card. And for the main event of the biggest NXT show of the year they should have done something more.

Also the crowd as great for Zayn versus Nakamura but props to the commentary team for ... you know.... not sucking.

Commentary is such a important part of wrestling TV shows. Its staggering to me how bad it is on RAW versus everywhere else. It has been so bad for so long and fixing it would make EVERYTHING better

Once he gets promoted to the main roster and Creative fucks him over by having him do something lame repeatedly, we'll turn on him too.

Of course this reflects badly on Creative... not the talent. Ditto for anyone else with talent that WrassleGAF has turned on over the years. That said, if we're turning on Bálor before Vince has an opportunity to ruin him, there's something deeper there that should be scrutinized.
It'll be awesome when Nakamuras first main roster feud is with Ryback who beats him in 5 minutes in the opener at a PPV.

Gotta pay those dues you know.

I just rewatched Zayn/Nakamura again, and that match was super dope. And that Nakamura entrance/theme music is equally dope. I'd never actually seen a Nakamura match in full before, but I'd heard about him, so my expectations were high, and god damn, did he and Sami deliver a fantastic match.

Wow! One of my favorite new entrance songs in a while too, for Nakamura.

Not gonna lie. That show was a lot better from not having that originally planned Apollo Crews Vs Elias Samson match on the main card. Both guys were pretty damn cold coming into this. No one was ever going to care about that feud.

These dudes seem so genuinely happy.

I didn't think Zayn had a match of that caliber in him, to be honest. I wonder if Nakamura just pulls the best out of people.
When matched up with guys that can go Sami puts on incredible matches.

See: Zayn vs Cesaro
See: Zayn vs Neville
See: El Generico/Sami Zayn vs Kevin Steen/Owens

Just watched Zayn vs Nakamura again. God damn this match is so incredible. As someone who doesn't watch much Japanese wrestling, I'm now a believer in the king of strong style

Got around to watching it.

You know what this reminds me of? That time period when you had Razor Ramon, Micheals, Hart, and all of them at the top of their game. Doing crazier, more insane moves, while really selling it well. It was probably the height of the WWF in a technical skill sense. This seems like a continuation of it, rather than being bogged down with all the shit they have now. It was just good wrestling.

Honestly, about every person looked like they could be superstar potential.

That match needed to be after Nakamura/Zayn. The crowd wasn't going to be as into Bayley/Asuka as that match but if there was a buffer they wouldn't have started out asleep. Asuka's one of my favorite NXT stars and I couldn't tell you what happened for the first half of the match and I wasn't even in the arena screaming and chanting for a half hour before it started.

You missed nothing but Elias had heat like Eva Marie during his entrance, he tried to talk for the first time on the mic and the crowd booed so hard you couldn't hear anything until Apollo came out.

You are absolutely right about this. The crowd was so obviously spent after just witnessing Zayn vs Nakamura. They needed to slot in an undercard match between the two. Maybe something like Emma vs Bliss.
