I think the sword you get in DkS3 is the charred sword you find in DkS2 on the Iron King DLC. Man At Arms did the Dark Souls 1 version of the sword anyway

Nah, the handle is just too short and the center of gravity of the weapon is way too out of whack

I think the problem people have is that the thread is titled "Dark Souls III blah blah" while it's not even clear it's about that game in the video. Should remove the "III" part of it. It's not a FFXV spoiler to say the word Ultima Weapon but it might be if the thread is title "FFXV blah blah"

This is a prime example of why spoiler culture is absolutely a problem: to actually find out whether or not the """""""""""""spoiler""""" they're complaining about is actually a spoiler, they need to deliberately watch the video that they claim they don't want to watch for fear of being spoiled, which they do and then promptly get angry about being spoiled.

but I wouldn't think guaranteed.

That being said this is pretty benign since "Dark Souls 3" is being used for marketing purposes currently to represent the whole series and doesn't necessarily mean the sword is an easter egg in 3.

FFXV having an Ultima Weapon wouldn't really be a 1:1 analogy since FF's are never connected, and one of the primary parts of Dark Souls is understanding the lore, and specifically with 2 and 3, finding the connecting threads.

(but I agree, this really isn't the hill to die on in regards to spoilers)

IIRC they changed teams some time back, Keyblade might have still been done by the old team. The new guys are a lot better.
