How are the NPCs in this game compared to the rest? I found Bloodborne pretty lacking in that aspect.

Definitely better than Bloodborne in that regard.
For the first 10 hours or so, I was encountering people in the world left and right. I totally flubbed all of their quests, though, and by around hour twenty, almost all of them had disappeared from my game, so the last 10+ hours were quite lonely.

Bosses as hard as Ludwig, Orphan of Kos, Loran Darkbeast or Abhorrent Beast just don't exist in any of the Souls games. It's mostly just people who are mad that it's an exclusive the ones saying the game is easy when they're not using "lol build variety" to shit on it.
Loran Darkbeast in particular is the hardest boss in the entire series for me, by far.
BB > DaS > DS = DaS2DLC >>>>>> DaS2 in terms of boss difficulty.
It deserves a lot of credit for proving the template. It's hard to see with fresh eyes after all of it has been revisited and revised across the other four games. I played it right after DS1 and even then it's impact was diminished.
It has its brevity going for it. Very solid atmosphere and other than the awkwardness of world tendency, it doesn't overreach. I adore the game, but it's my third or fourth favorite in the series.
I have a PS4
I have beaten bloodborne
It is the easiest by far
The lack of build variety hurts the games replay value significantly
Deal with it

I laugh when people say Bloodborne is the hardest. I beat majority of the bosses on my first try in BB (I love the game btw)...but majority bosses in the Souls games made me their bitch.

I try to avoid this console warrior bullshit, but come on man, Bloodborne is the easiest of the series. The game is only hard when they try to pull some bullshit like they do in the Chalice Dungeons (fuck defiled Amygdala) or when the camera goes bananas (Bloodletting beast i'm looking at you).
I try to avoid this console warrior bullshit.
Lol people saying souls games are hard
Git gud scrubs
I don't even use bonfires and my dick is huge
I'm not even going to try and engage on an argument with people who say with a straight face that Dark Souls II main game bosses are harder than Bloodborne. I'm out.

The only thing that's bullshit is you dismissing people who found Bloodborne difficult as console warriors.
Try respecting other people's opinions.

In fact, one of my hopes is that DkS3 has that same unpredictability in bosses, bosses that change patterns or phases mid battle, I would love that, those changes make the battle more difficult.
...
I defeated almost all DkS 1 bosses in a single go, going the same route for DkS 2... they never change the pattern, they always make the same amount of damage, they always receive the same amount of damage..
Me and other people could argue that objectively BB bosses can be very unpredictable because they are the opposite of what I said here before, that is just 1 factor to tell they are more difficult.
I can't remember how many time I died in a lot of bosses, like father gascoine, specially in the second phase. Even in subsequent playthroughs I continued dieing

fake EDIT: now that I remember, DkS2 Giant boss did a phase change...
I will surely deal with your opinion being a fact and be sure to delete my save because it's double the length of the others, how could I play a game with such low replay value so much time instead of rerolling 10 characters in DaS2 and use its 132 repeated, redundant, useless weapons? Oh and I will go and beat an Abhorrent Beast with a +1 weapon because you said the game is easy, it was only on my mind after all.
Thank you for opening my eyes.
This happens with most of them
Not sure if that's s spoiler but yea
These games are made for babies basically. An infant could finish them. (They might die like once on Rom and Allant)
Also my cock is humongous.
The Bloodborne Defiled Chalice Dungeon bosses from level 2 and 3 are IMHO the hardest bosses in any souls game (Defiled Watch Dog and Defiled Amygdala). This is mostly due to the half health BS.
I'd be perfectly happy if DS3 was easier than that.
I just started replaying DS2 in preparation, and I think the enemy placement in SotFS is largely crap, at least in the early stages (Through Heide's Tower of Flame so far). I am enjoying it less than I did the base game.
Bloodborne is very easy. There is a lot of stamina you can spam away. The only hard part was defiled but mainly because of a fucking 50% health penalty.
Here is a one shot Darkbeast I did:

Now, Dark lurker, Fume and Alonne caused me headaches for quite some time. And from DS1 the 2 gangbros, and the 4K. From Demon's I thought Flamelurker and Allant were hard, non cheese.
someone already posted this meme like 5 posts above you buddy
The NPC's in the game are fantastic but this is probably the easiest Souls game to fuck up their quests. Even as a Souls veteran trying to look out for it I ended up screwing myself out of all of them.
Ebrietas, Logarius, Ludwig, Orphan, and Loran Darkbeast are harder than anything in any of the Souls games(minus Ds3 since I havent played it). Their movesets are so varied and theyre so much more aggressive, especially the DLC bosses.

Ebrietas and Logarius both made me want to rip my hair out Ornstein & Smough (Attorneys At Law, 95-25 Queens Blvd, Rego Park, NY) style actually. I absolutely hate that asshole Logarius to this day.
Still talking about Dark Souls 2 and Bloodborne in here?
There are several endgame DS3 bosses in that Ludwig/Orphan/Logarius caliber. Nothing like Loran Darkbeast though, which falls more into broken than hard for my taste. (Solo'ed him anyway.)
I'd lump Fume Knight up with those personally, especially how he intentionally tries to bait you into healing at unsafe times.
Had a really hard time with Bloodborne and in comparison Dark Souls was a relaxing vacation that helped me de-stress. So I guess we're both laughing at each others. At least we're laughing.
I think it comes down to playstyle. A lot of people considered DS2 the easiest, I think? I found it by far the toughest. I felt it was DS2>DeS>BB>DS in terms of difficulty for me.
