Captain America: Civil War - Final Trailer

Chris Evans really is Captain America.

He probably wants to stay on the straight and narrow because he knows how kids look up to him as Cap now and he doesn't want to disappoint them.

Pretty cool comparison of the different Spider-Man masks:

Aren't these fan made?

Still a good comparison on the differences.

You think they knew about Wakanda before AoU? They obviously both knew about vibranium because of Howard Stark. Unless the look was just surprise at the realization that there was more vibranium in the world than just Cap's shield.
So I know they're done with origin stories, but can we get a flashback to Dominic Cooper in Wakanda? Or a one-shot? Because that'd be pretty bad ass.
Maybe a story arc in Agent Carter. Realistically it'll be a flashback in the Black Panther movie.

I still can't get over the fact that I'm going to be watching a Marvel comics movie that features Black Panther and Spider-Man in it, fighting along side Captain America, Iron Man, Vision, Scarlett Witch, Black Widow, War Machine, Ant Man, Hawkeye, and The Falcon.

Like, holy shit. It's my childhood cartoons and comics come to life.

I remember having conversations a long, long time ago with my wife about expecting Spider-Man to show up in a Marvel movie at some point in the future after the MCU became really impressive (sometime pre-Guardians of the Galaxy I want to say), but I never actually thought it would happen.

Even after the partnership was announced, I was skeptical. It's Hollywood. They pander to money, not fanboys, and I thought the deal would fall through at some point, and Spidey would be cut from the movie. I know a lot of people have mixed feelings about them revealing Spider-Man in that final trailer, and I understand those feelings, but I almost feel like it was a special circumstance for me.

When they showed Doomsday in the BvS trailer, I was irritated. It was an aspect of the movie that I didn't know was a thing, and as I hadn't followed any rumors or leaks, I had no idea he was going to show up.

With the Spider-Man reveal, however, I almost think he needed to be shown in a trailer. If anything, to hammer home the point that he's actually in the movie. It now feels real. Seeing him in the trailer, seeing the toys being marketed, it's finally starting to sink in for me that Spider-Man is now a part of the MCU. It's amazing. I was expecting the other shoe to fall during the time of the partnership announcement to release, but now it's actually real. Such a strange, yet pleasant feeling. Those reaction videos are so fun to watch, because so many of them mirror my own excitement, even though I didn't jump out of my seat and holler like a doofus when I watched the trailer.

Spidey may have been kept a secret if there wasn't a HUGE FROTHING DEMAND for a reveal.

I remember backlash for the first trailer because there was no spidey

It's almost worth it that Spidey wasn't part of the MCU until now, just for those fan reactions.

It's really a long time coming.

Also there's still loads of kids that, while old enough to watch and love the MCU films, don't have the knack to look for a new trailer.

They might actually not find out until they watch the film. Crazy.

I watched the trailer for the first time at work, so I couldn't make any noise, but this was my legit reaction to seeing Spidey at the end of the trailer:

shit was unreal.

Also, at my screening of BvS on opening night, the loudest cheers were for Spidey appearing at the end of the Civil War trailer BEFORE the movie started. People are fucking PUMPED for Spidey in MCU like nothing else.

I had stayed late at work, nobody in the room with me but I heard somebody say "What the hell was that noise?!" I had sort of just yelped when Iron Man yelled "UNDEROOS!"

I had a cheeky grin on my face when I heard the web sound effect at the end of the trailer, but I imagine in the cinema I'm gonna have the biggest fucking smile on my face when Spidey turns up.

Thanks for all the Wakanda info comic dudes. I'm obviously not a comic reader so I really do appreciate it.

It's said multiple times in the MCU that vibranium is the rarest metal on Earth.

Comic bullshit! There's only 30 grams of Francium on Earth at any given moment. But Vibranium is MORE rare and they're making full suits and shields out of it? Goddammit Marvel!

I look at Vibranium like the diamond trade. By Wakanda hoarding its stockpile it creates value. Its not necessarily rare. Its just that they are the only game in town and they aren't sharing.

We all know motherfuckers catch rek when they try to take it.

It's not that there is an extremely low volume of it

But most of what exists on earth is safeguarded by the most technologically advanced nation on earth. That is literally one of the prime duties of The Black Panther, to prevent outside nations and entities from exploiting the Vibranium cache they guard.

After watching this a couple more times and after seeing the first CA again I'm back to focusing on Captain America himself rather than those tagging along. That first movie (Peggy, "I can do this all day", Tommy Lee Jones, etc) gets better every time I see it. Should get the blu at this point.

Okay, that makes a lot more sense, though I still see it referred to as the "rarest metal on Earth" a lot and it's annoying :P Anyway, if Wakanda has all of it, how did Tony's dad or "Dr. Maclain" or whatever get the vibranium for Cap's shield? Is there a story about that? The Marvel wikia thing doesn't seem to explain, or I'm blind.

Lol, dat gif.

It hasn't really been explained in the movies yet. We can assume Howard Stark had something to do with it, but the little bit of Vibranium he used for Cap's shield was essentially a gift from Wakanda to the US government. Maybe it'll be something they dig into during the Black Panther movie.

So we're going to ignore the fact that Hulk and Thor won't be around to see Spidey return home, and Quicksilver is dead?

Also; I love the two suits in the background.

Oh man, Spider-Man meeting Thor is going to be amazing. And Banner... if they play Peter as this guy who's grown up geeking over these superheroes, it's going to be hilarious and tearjerking when he realises how fucked in the head Banner and Stark are. Peter probably spent his teen years defending them on forums like Neogaf, where people debated Hulk's kill count and whether Thor was cuckolded by Jane Foster.

I think the part that amuses me the most about those reaction videos is all of the people wearing Marvel or DC shirts, or having Marvel or DC posters and toys in their rooms. There will always be the fanboy wars of Marvel vs DC, but I think the vast majority of comic book fans probably enjoy both companies characters.

I remember absolutely loving both DC and Marvel as a kid, with DC being the one I was introduced to first, and I distinctly remember being a little boy and convinced that Spider-Man was a DC character. lol. I think I blamed one of the Marvel/DC crossovers, I'm not sure. It was the early 80's. I think I had a preference for DC back then, since at the time, they had the most toys and cartoons and movies I had access too. I want to say it was around the 90's, when Fox's Spider-Man an X-Men cartoons came out, that I really started paying even more attention to Marvel than I had before, and those cartoons introduced me to more Marvel characters. Although I do remember watching the Bill Bixby Incredible Hulk TV show whenever it was on. It oddly scared me and fascinated me.

Then, also in the early 90's, I was introduced to Image Comics, and they became my obsession for pretty much all of high school, and it wasn't until after I graduated that I got back into DC and Marvel. At the end of the day, I just love comics. Doesn't matter the genre, doesn't matter the company. If the stories are entertaining, I'm happy. While I'll certainly have fun making fun of all of the companies, and teasing fanboys, I never feel malicious about it. It's a medium of entertainment I love, and I wish more people were into it. It's a wonderful artform, with so much diversity of content. I love it.

Spidey is no joke...

It just occurred to me: The last two appearances of Cap in the MCU have featured flashbacks to Steve's life in the 20th century and the events that took place during his time before being frozen
okay, more of a vision in Age of Ultron but it still took place in the past
. What are the chances we get a flashback where
we see Cap fight the Black Panther and lose to establish him as a major threat like I believe they did in the comics, obviously a different Black Panther than the current one
?

I mean, it's not really possible with the way Marvel wrote WWII Cap into a corner. He was really only active as Captain America in Germany during the end of the war. They'd have to go through some serious mental hurdles to justify throwing him into Wakanda just for a flashback battle.

(No need to spoiler tag speculation FYI)

I think it's implied that the brunt of Cap's involvement in WWII happened in those montages, so it wouldn't be too much to fit a flashback introducing BP.

And Namor. Please.

That montage covers a shit-load of time and allows them wiggle room for more Howling Commando flashbacks. I could see them being able to do some kind of Wakanda flashback.
