Thanks!
It felt pretty surreal driving it after over a year of discussing it on forums, fussing over options, finalizing the color and design, reading reviews, and watching YouTube videos.
Wow, that's crazy. I was also thinking of either the 2016 Carrera/Carrera S or a Cayman S/GT4 a couple months ago as well. I ended up getting a new Porsche Cayman for my mom and a used Porsche Boxster for myself. That GT4 is a beautiful looking car. Congrats! I always wondered if there were other Porschephiles on Neogaf.
Didn't you also buy Porsche Cayman GTS a while back? If so, that was a beautiful car, which I personally find even nicer than the GT4 in appearance (not a big fan of spoilers that can't be retracted on sports cars).
Damn, Porsche better keep manual as an option by the time I'm in the market for one. I don't want any of that PDK nonsense.
So I've used the manual, tiptronic, and PDK sticks. They're all fantastic. I don't think you can go wrong with any one of them. Weekend drives? Manual. Daily driver? PDK. Both fantastic.
What a beauty! I'd love to own a porsche one day
Honestly, I never thought I'd own one. I hadn't even considered it beyond a few months ago. I drove an old car for many years (Camry that's coming up to be almost 20 years old). I thought maybe it's time update to a Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, etc. Clearly, these cars are better than my Camry. But after test driving each of them extensively (BMW 3/5 series, MB C350, Jag XF, etc.) they weren't so good that I wanted to upgrade from my Camry (I know, I'm crazy). But...then I tried a Porsche 911 and Cayman. These were so fun to drive. I didn't care about practicality anymore. They are amazingly fun cars to handle around turns and on windy roads. Totally worth saving up for.
I bet. Hoping to get my first Porsche later this year too!
Which one are you considering? You can't go wrong with any of them, from the Boxster, to the Macan S, to the 911. Expensive, but amazing cars.
Who's gonna top a Porsche? Good looking car! You should get an EA license plate for laughs.
I'll get some pictures up but I got a pair of Q701s and a couple of games so far.
Any EA license plates you would recommend? I hadn't thought of this and I'd like to express my love of games in some way on my car. I think EA license plates would be a perfect way to express this for people "in the know" in games!
I still remember a few years back some guy put up a Ferrari. Rich gaf stays hidden for the most part.
Gouken's Ferrari from 2011
I remember that. It was really nice. However, I don't think you "need" to be rich to own a Porsche. I think they are reasonably priced and are surprisingly practical for a sports car. If someone can't get a new Porsche, then a used Porsche can be affordable. Many Porsche I saw recently used were well taken care of since many Porsche owners are collectors. And even better yet, they are more reliable and last longer than most other German manufactureres (BMW, Mercedes, Audi, etc.).
