Yeah, BvS had embargoes until the day before it released and had an almost simultaneous world wide release, which seems like it was all set up for a heavily front loaded opening. Regardless of how much of that was to minimize negative WoM killing the film, I can't believe that they were very confident in it's performance and wanted it to get the best jump start possible.
Even the way that Marvel refused to move the film (when it was still just Cap 3) away from the date when WB moved BVS to the same date for a few months, you know they had to be confident with what they are doing here. I'd take that even further with how CW has shown so little of the film in their trailers (and there really has only been 2 official trailers, which is surprising) while BvS blew it's load with the second trailer which gave away way to much of the film. The former is confident, the latter seems desperate.
I know there has been lots of articles that like to pick up on these sorts of things are try to paint a picture that might not be there, but I do feel that in this case, it's going to pan out how these moves could be perceived from the outside. The quality of the end product with be the proof.
