"Quantum Break is now the best-selling new Microsoft Studios IP this generation"

So, fastest selling MS publish new IP for Xbox one in the UK?

Yes.
That means it's outsold the week one sales of the likes of Insomniac's Sunset Overdrive and Crytek's Ryse, both new Microsoft Studios IP that launched this generation.

Though it's weird, wasn't Ryse a lauch title? You'd assume it'd sell more than 28k units first week.

MS with their PR, you can never know.
Hopefully the game did well, but we can't learn that from MS, they will release a good PR even if a game is a flop.

The fact that they didn't mention how good it did compared to previous Remedy titles doesn't bode well.

is this "first week quantum break sales surpass those games lifetime sales?" or "first week quantum break sales surpass those games first week sales?"

please do tell me the other game companies that release bad PR statements

Yes, more or less.

This thread is pretty amazing to read given the near 50/50 split of people who are and are not capable of deciphering the PR.

I hope Remedy got a good deal and I hope Microsoft pays for them to do a proper PC release at some point.

Maybe other companies won't say "this thing has become our most sold new thing ever" when it really means "this thing sold the most in the first week in the market out of all new things we had so far".

You could always ignore the game and act as if it doesn't exist. Like Sony did with The Order. :D

Seriously though, while MS is definitely more creative with their PR, they are all basically the same when it comes to painting something in a better light that its reality. However, MS's fans seem to eat their PR far easier than other fans. Anecdotal of course, but that's the impression I usually get.

Well yeah, much more potential buyers. I wonder how that number would look if we take the installbase of Ryse (let's say the console's first month) and then compare it with the current installbase...

Looking at the UK 1st week sale, I think someone should definitely ask if they include the PC keys gifted away with XB1 versions as separate units, because 28k is rather low I'd say.

Yeah this is trying to spin bad news.

Doesn't seem impressive if they listed outsold games that didn't sell that well in the first place. QB is fun and I think everyone should check it out.

Isn't that just retail? So should be just Xbone numbers, no?
Anyway, good PR job but man is his thing low in UK and I don't see mainland doing better.

So I guess it's up to US (let's face it Xbone ROTW is very low).

To be honest UK retail numbers are becoming more and more redundant every day.
I wonder what those first week Columbia/Russia digital stores sales numbers were? I wonder how many people played the game whe we take into account digital gamesharing, one sale for two people.

People are more spend savvy now than ever before.

I wonder to wich region cdkeys count. As i unlocked on the nz store.

To confirm, this is U.K. only from what I understand. And no actual figures.

Still solid for exclusive new IP on the lagging console to perform well in this market. But let's wait to see how it does in other locales.

I just hope it sells enough to get a sequel. Fantastic game, enjoying it more and more as I continue my second run. Replace the TV show with hip fire next time and you've got yourself a masterpiece, Remedy.
