The benefit for me is that it's my real friends and my girlfriend. So their answers are more important to me than a random Gaffer I've never met or interacted with before. Me and my friends spend crazy amounts of time on this.

I do have a few real world friends on the app, although I probably spend just as much time interacting with GAF/Twitter people. I just tended to only add friends whom I am relatively familiar with on GAF or Twitter so it doesn't feel quite as much like random strangers.

I've seen pictures of places people live and of food from where they're from, talked about what people do or are studying, seen pics of pets and then had just random stuff like language lesson tips, etc.
All really interesting whereas with the people I know... well I know them. All the in-jokes and stuff are cool but finding out about life on the other side of the world is cool too.
I don't think there's a right or wrong way to do this really, it's all fun.

Welp, between that ridiculously low max level and the inability to farm more than 200 coins in a day I think it's safe to say RIP miitomo in about a week or so. What the hell, Nintendo?

Give us a coin or 5 for commenting unless you want the service to lose even more popularity. Also a way to gamble the coins would be nice. The app in its current state will be forgotten and uninstalled by many.

And it's like, I just got to level 15. Why don't I get 1000 coins or something? One game ticket? That prize is lousy. Why is the prize for getting level 15 the same as getting level 2? The fact that this is Nintendo's first app is starting to become obvious. Come on, DeNA! Help Nintendo figure out incentivization.

Yeah, spend on clothes or tickets for the Mii Drop or convert to Mii Money. Just something other than what it is used for now because it doesn't seem that useful.

Unfortunately, no. Only Facebook (you have to be friends with each other), Twitter (you have to follow each other), or face to face (which is buggy and doesn't always work).

God dammit Nintendo. Just when you had my interest in something, you had to fuck up the method of adding friends (which is the entire point of the app).

I'll leave this unused in my junk folder for a month or two to see if they fix this (like with friend codes or a simple "add by name" feature). Otherwise, meh.

I actually had someone add me who wasn't a mutual friend on twitter or facebook.

She follows me on Twitter (I don't follow her) and we had one mutual miitomo friend and she was able to send the friend request.

Even without overhauling the friend system, I feel like it should be a simple fix. Just separate categories for Twitter, Facebook, and mutual friend contacts, which refresh independently of each other. Most of our issues would be solved.

I got it twice, both times on accident. Once slightly to the left, once slightly to the right, feet pointing towards the center.

I never got the hood.

The problem I'm having is that mutual Twitter followers aren't showing up because there are so many friends of friends in the suggested friends list. I have to block the FoF suggestions to get Twitter people to show up in the list, and some of them never have.

I've had that since day 1. It means you ran through them all already. You can go back and update your answers and answer skipped ones but there's no easy way to go through the list.

They've added like 2 new questions since release. The one about ninjas and about being moved.

You'll still get questions that are just between you and a friend occasionally and the game does occasionally re-ask you a updatable question.

Just for information, you can update questions you've already answered to get the 3 a day platinum coin daily mission. You also get coins for it for the first 10 or so questions a day you answer/update.

Exactly the same as you. I feel naked without the sword. Ninja Drop is available until May 8th and I feel I'll never get it.

Gold coins only come from downloading retail games from the Nintendo eShop on your Wii U or 3DS.
