New clip presents the superhero registration debate in Captain America: Civil War

I guess I'll need to hear how the film lays out the details of the Sokovia Accords to see which team I'm on.

I think there's merit to some kind of Superhero registration. Not one where Superhero's act under command of the government, but, one that allows them to be held accountable. As I posted earlier in the other thread, what happens when latent racial bias causes a superhero to go in too hard on an unarmed black kid? Who's the family going to seek damages from?

I'm leaning towards Team Cap because it sounds like the Sokovia Accords are too far reaching and also Cap > Iron Man.

Although Team Iron Man has Widow, Black Panther, and Spider-Man... Fuck!

That kind of legislation would be okay. But you know that is not what the government actually wants. They'd want the ability to control the Superhero. It's always their intention right from the beginning and I'd imagine it's what will happen too IRL if there are Superheroes out there. Anyone in position of power will hate to see them not having control over someone who has brute power stronger than them.

the only thing that makes me sad about Civil War is that Spiderman hasn't been involved till now. it really limits how much his story in all this can play out.

in relation to the comics, next to what ultimately happens to Steve Rogers, Spiderman by far comes out very badly from this whole deal.

and team cap all the way, everyday, and twice on sunday. now i will say i am basing my team cap from what goes down in the comics, i might feel differently if they change the story for the movie.

I hope they've done a bette job of Stark's characterisation than in the comic.

They didn't portray two sides of a debate in Civil War. They turned Stark full on evil antogonist. Was awful storytelling.

Seems like such a divorce from Tonys characters in all his other films where he has instigated most of the problems by taking the initiative without the teams approval.

I don't think they're planning on using this movie as an excuse to retcon Spider-Man's marriage.

But Tony was suppose to be the good guy in Civil War.

I don't think there's any risk of that, they've made a point of saying they want people to be really conflicted over who was right at the end of the film. Marvel won't risk a character assassination (figuratively) of Tony Stark either.

Why the hell are thread titles spoiling plot points of a movie?

Not everyone has read the comics and I am sure some of the people who haven't do not want any of the movie spoiled for them (like me).

They may make Tony's arguments slightly more compelling, but no chance they'll portray two sides. The movie itself is billed as a CAPTAIN AMERICA film in big bold letters, I think it's pretty clear we're supposed to root for Cap and who will win.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Only thing that the comic and the movie share is the title. And if it bothers you that much then I don't think you should be in this thread.

I joined for Erin Brockovich discussion
If Winter Soldier wasn't Bucky, Cap would've shot his ass like 85 times by now

So, when they gonna kill Hawkeye, Iron Man, Black Widow and Scarlet Witch?

Brainwashed and lead the way towards NYC, Mind Manipulated to create Ultron, Murdered a bunch of people and originally ordered to be killed by SHIELD, and kickstarted the whole Ultron thing.

... That's the crux of the movie. It's not just a plot point it's the main motivator behind the events of the movie. It's what it's billing itself on.

If it's in every trailer for the film it's not a spoiler. The premise of a film isn't a spoiler.

Fucking Spoiler-Phobia has gone too far.

Ok so this isn't a discussion of the comic but thinking back on it is a great laugh.

Poor Spidey. Was completely fucked over by Stark.
