My first run in with a stereotypical gamer.

For context, I'm going off the stereotype that gamers are all Fedora wearers, pony tail wearers, completely too vocal on their video game preferences, talk to much, obserdly opinionated, etc.

This guy is all of those things. It is surreal trying to speak to him; it's like he's the embodiment of GameFAQs.

I don't want to mean, but sometimes, I just want to tell him to shut the fuck up.

Maybe it shows my age (mid 30s) but that's not the stereotypical gamer I think of lol. That just sounds like a hipster. (I'm from Oregon lol)

Same.

I rock kangols and fedoras (only when I'm wearing a suit, though), so, again, what's wrong with fedoras? Don't make me unshit this katana on you.

I knew a kid like that in high school.

Whatever was the current GameFAQs/NeoGAF/internet gaming meme...
He'd just keep parroting them loudly in real life and acting like everybody was just an in-person message board user.

Just imagine a high school kid who's constantly saying things like "8 out of 8? FLOP!"

He was *also* a huge anime moe kawaii waifu otaku.

Did he run to classes like a character from Naruto?

When i think stereotypical gamer. I think of a 13 year old COD and Minecraft player screaming obscenities while playing COD, and spending all the time 'playing' MC by watching Youtube videos of it endlessly.

What's wrong with fedoras?

Fedoras getting brought into this stereotype always makes me sad. Indiana Jones wears a fedora, fedoras are supposed to be cool... fedoras don't deserve this.

I've encountered a few similar sounding people working Amiibogeddon shifts at work. Most are perfectly pleasant, some are... not.

Yea pretty much this.

OP kinda just described a hipster.

You got a problem with pony tails? :p

Seems to me, you are the opinionated one.

Your OP is nothing but a bunch of sterotypes, and yet we are supposed to believe the issues are with this other person?

Fedoras are cool, when they're paired with a cool person like Indiana Jones to film noir characters.... not a man with a pony tail wearing a Pokemon t-shirt.
