Street Fighter V - Guile Screenshots (April 2016 DLC character)

I love that he rolls up his sleeves just to show off his tats.

Edit: I will burn this song onto a disk and play it as I drive home from work the day Guile is released.

You know some (relatively) old Joes ;). If the target audience is 30+ then that works, if you are targeting 25 and under at all (and that's a major demographic) then who the heck is Guile and why would I want to play as a boring looking fat guy. New demo, they are gonna like different characters, and I'd actually argue that a bunch of the outcry for Alex came from younger gamers who might not have ever played SF3.

I'm 25 and I know who all these people are. Everyone I talked to about the game before launch asked if characters like Guile or Sagat or Bison were in it. People know who these characters are, even if you don't want to acknowledge it. As for the other part of your argument, how the hell does that make any sense? If they're new to Street Fighter, and they really have no idea who anybody is, then every character is a new character to them. They have no reason to think that Guile or Honda or Zangief are any more or less boring than any other character on the roster.

Personally, I think it's dumb that we even break the roster down into SF2 characters and SFA characters and SF3 characters at this point. They're just Street Fighter characters. It shouldn't matter what game they originated in. If a character has appeared in four out of the five games at this point, I don't think you can argue that they keep showing up because they need to fill a quota of Street Fighter 2 characters. They keep showing up because they're the cast of Street Fighter and this is a new Street Fighter game.

I kinda hope they put in Strange Sunset as his theme.

Edit: Aww man, now I'm really wishing Arika content could be a thing in SFV.

That Guile model looks quite bad compared to rest of the roster, looks more like a remastered version of SF4 Guile. At least characters like Ryu has a huge difference from SF4 to SF5

There are a lot of old Joes out there who ask about these characters. They just may not be as vocal online.

Guile was one of the worst looking characters in sf4 imo. this is a big upgrade.

Word. Looks like they just made the hair round. Not seeing a major difference from IV as seen below.

Obviously the character model looks much better in V, but I will say that his not-so-satellite-dish hair in IV looks better on him.

Have to be honest, not feeling mall cop Guile. Also his idle neutral animation looks strange, something bugs me about it but can't quite place it. (in the critical art video, at the very end)
