Persona 5 comes out September 15th in Japan

Not since PS3 days, although FFXIII looks good. Back in PS2 days there are plenty of good-looking JRPGs with great graphic at the time. FFXII? Valkyrie Profile 2?
P5 looks fine to me though, definitely one of the better looking JRPGs out there. You can tell it's based on PS3.
 
Why everyone keep thinking it'll be 2017 for western version (us)?

I give them late October for earliest.



Betting 15 sep and won before, now I'm over confident.

Eh. They managed to get both versions of Persona 4 out in the same year they were released in Japan. I wouldn't be shocked if they some managed to do the same with this given how it's one of their biggest titles and it showing up at E3.
 
Guess this means 2017 for EU/US :(.
Not too bothered anyway, have much more hype for FFXV currently and would be playing that for sure day 1.
 
I thought this was getting a worldwide release on the same day?

Well at least I won't be contemplating whether I should be playing FFXV or P5.
 
Is the amiami or Play-Asia link up yet? I'm so ready for this! And I need the art book and sound track set. Persona music has always been God Tier. Damn I'm so hypeddddd.

Atlus always sponsors E3's badges, so Persona 5 will probably be dangling from everyone's necks. It was party featured last year, but I take it this year it'll be on both sides.

You think so? I think it'll still be a 50/50, with P5 on one end and SMT IV:A on the other.
 
is that a meaty OST of all 5 games best and a 100+ P5 artbook? Awesome looking forward to that seeing what we get here, hopefully similar.

The only graphical powerhouse JRPGs I know are:

- FF
- KH
- Star Ocean?

I'd say Persona is in between Star Ocean and Tales level of graphical powerhouses.

It's a huge art book, 5 disc soundtrack, all the DLC, and the game. Honestly, given how expensive this stuff costs in Japan, that seems like REALLY good value.

e: Can someone post when Amazon Japan and amiami have it in stock? Now that we can ship to the US for Amazon, we should be able to order it off there.

Among the current JRPGs, FF, KH, and DQ are clearly a league ahead of everything else. P5 looks better than SO5 IMO, but SO5 has nine party members on the screen and it's an action RPG runs in 60 fps so I'm not sure the comparison is fair.
 
The reason i say the voice acting is trash in previous game is because the way the voices are done as if their voicing characters from a little kids cartoon like Dora the explorer. With the JP voice acting even the minor characters have better skilled voice acting. English they will get 2-3 decent VA and the rest some cheap and nasty VA's

Persona va has been strong IMO.

What are you even on about? You can prefer JP voices all you want, but Atlus are usually pretty decent with their English VA's (especially in Persona).

P4's JP VAs are big names in Japan. Especially Rise's. She was a legit selling point for Japanese audience. You can't find the equivalent of that in NA.

But Rise's Japanese VA is awful. She's easily the worst along with Teddie.

I'm honestly more interested in how much they've improved the battles and dungeon design. Even with average graphics, Persona games have always had style down-pat. Dungeons and depth of the battle system have been the weakness in my opinion. If they can improve on these systems then they will have my attention.

I'm already in it for the social and day-to-day systems, those are already pretty pretty great.

In all seriousness, this doesn't seem like the sort of LE we'd get in the US. We'll probably get a different LE with the full soundtrack, some sort of trinket, all the DLC, and the game (and it'll cost $90). That seems to be the Atlus MO in the states.

e: Glad I'm not the only one who severely dislikes the P4GA VA. I found it grating and borderline unbearable. I love all things P4, but man that series felt totally useless in every sense of the word. It was a worse version of something that was already better.
 
I loved Rie Kugimiya in FMA, but I did find her Rise extremely grating. Laura Bailey's Rise was so charismatic, and felt less cliched than the original version.

I'm currently staring at Amazon.jp. I can wait for the English release, I can wait for the English release, Icanwaitforthe englishreleaaaaassse arrrrrgh
 
Shit.

I can't mess around with a preorder right now, I'm tapped out until payday.

But yeah, I'm concerned that Atlus USA isn't going to give us that LE, and if they don't give us that one, I'm not convinced they'll actually put out a better box for NA.

The only thing that would make that LE better would be a steelbook. I like Steelbooks.

Will probably preorder one next week, just in case.
