Pokémon Sun and Moon Starters Revealed. Releases November 18th 2016.

So who wants to take bets on where Alola is based on?

Coming from the name, I'm thinking Hawaii, but some of the glyphs and characters look very Maori to me so it could be New Zealand.

Can I have an avatar of Rowlet shooting his feather?

I really like Rowlet and Litten's designs. I'm kind of disappointed they didn't do a Dark/Fire combination for Litten, but EH. At least Rowlet's rocking that adorable little leaf bowtie.

OP should add the JP trailer to the first post, it shows quite bit more and is pretty adorable as well.

I admit I'm going to miss the top down grid maps, but I'm excited to see Pokemon finally challenging itself with a more modern JRPG overworld and look.

It's definitely Hawaii lol. There've been hints since the first teaser, and the Japanese promo is all about a kid who moves to Hawaii and makes friends from Pokemon.

Rowlet providing that starter that can learn fly we all need. At least I hope. Plus bow ties are always a good thing.

What are you talking about? I said we'll revisit Kanto since Hawaii is near Japan. You know like Gold and Silver did?

I guess it's possible, but I feel like if they put Kanto in another game they'd also be obligated to put Johto due to its close proximity. Just doesn't seem realistic.

I don't think it's gonna connect with kanto. Kalos seems more likely since there was a whole bottom part missing and the gen not getting a 3rd version

Again Kalos seems like the most likely, you could always just make it a plane ride or just not give a fuck about geography and go by boat since this is a fictional world anyway.

You can see a lot more of the region in the JP trailer

The proportions of the buildings lead me to believe there's not enough space for more than two or three gyms here and that there are more islands somewhere.

The shape of that island doesn't look remotely close to any of the Hawaiian islands... But if I had to guess, I would say Oahu due to the location of the large Pokemon city matching Honolulu's position on the island.

I do, but someone in the other thread was already talking about being too tiny and making connections to Kalos already.

The shape looks like Maui anyway (turn the image below 90º left):

Starting off in Poke-Maui and having Poke-O'ahu be the main hub island seems to make sense to me.

For some reason I have a feeling Litten will turn into a fire/ghost type, please don't ruin the design (Fennekin... why)

I love Litten design!
I'm ok with the Sea Lion... but the Owl is terrible... is like: i have no imagination.

Interesting the new look of the game, with less chibi humans.

Lion legendary is terrible, but i love the design of the other one.

Will go with the Blue edition, like always from generation 1.
