I like the owl and the circus seal a lot. Very inspired designs. They took the ball motif for the seal and made it its nose. A natural design choice.

So the island is based on Oahu. The southern volcano is Diamond Head, the city is Honolulu/Pearl Harbor, and the mountain with the waterfall is Sacred Falls.
Obviously this island is too small to be the entire region. How many islands will it be? Obviously they have to have the main island.

Gamefreak's technical inability is just sad. While I'm glad that the overworld seems to be continuously moving towards being actually fully 3D...the visual quality reminded me of Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker. It's probably better than that but certainly not by a large enough margin. That overworld looks just rough.

Because no one cares about Z and just because the next handheld comes out doesn't mean youll get a game for it.
Overall, starters are pretty bad and legendaries look over designed. Overworld looks great though and hopefully the other legendaries and Pokemon this gen look a lot better, no updated Pokemon models should mean they had more time for new Pokemon and hopefully put more effort into them than the starters and Moon legendary.
It is just a remake of gold/silver. It's just a remake with gen 4 mechanics, like FRLG is a remake with gen 3 mechanics.

You always start in the smallest part of the map and work into the mainland inward.
Looking at that map, I wouldn't be surprised if you get surf early and go south towards the bigger islands.
Tons of water pokemon. More likely is a generation mix than exclusive Gen 7 mons

This is always a silly counter-point. Voltorb was a gimmick Pokémon built on the fact that overworld items were designed to look like Pokéballs. It was a gameplay inspired player trap.
