Litten will be a Tiger. Mark my words.
But... you only have one starter. You don't have anything else to rely on. That's my point. And god help you if you chose fire. The problem is that they now throw super birds, super rodents, super bugs etc. and unlimited tms at you. It conveniences the player, but it also makes the story mode a complete joke. Are you trying to convince me that I don't actually know what I've experienced? Water Gun/Vine Whip have 25PP, which is plenty unless you're only relying on those moves. Even moves with 10/15PP typically get by okay through dungeons because surely I have at least one other attack among my team that can also work.
A fellow comrade! Mr. Mime is my favorite pokemon, but this is largely due to how endearing the anime made him out to be when I was a lass.
I do agree with you there; there are quite a few pokes deserving of some permanent ol' evolutions and I'm hoping Game Freak decides to bless some of them. I like megas but if that's the only thing pre-Gen 6 pokemon are going to get it'll be sad. That's one of the things Sinnoh got right, even if some designs weren't met with universal praise.

Not a problem. Just make the HM moves TMs and allow Pokemon to use those moves in the overworld after you obtain the corresponding key items.I really don't like the idea of removing HMs and replace them with regular old items. I wouldn't mind for the HM system to get changed or downright replaced by something else, but I'd still want it to involve Pokemon interacting with the environment.
How in the hell does that make the game harder instead of easier?
I don't know about playing competitively, but this is not true for single player.
Sounds boring as fuck
Also I don't expect ring master owl to be anywhere near as humanoid as that mockup. I expect the general shape to still be very much owl
I love these ideas. Well, except for the clothes. I think the clothes would be represented by colored fur, tufts of feather, etc.

Easily. It allows every trainer to have 5-6 pokemon that will kick your ass. Every trainer battle would be a challenge. The reason you get a full heal at the end is so you don't have to go back to the pokemon center after every single battle.
As it stands, every trainer has 1-2 pokemon (maybe 3), and the battles are rarely difficult. Normally you'll only lose a battle if you start on low health.
I'm not saying gf should do this, but I think it would allow every trainer battle to actually be tough. At the very least they should change something to add challenge. (hard mode?)
While the general ideas seem plausible, the monster designs drawn look terrible. I can't see them going with something looking like that for a final Evo water pokemon design.![]()

Completely agree with this. HMs help emphasize the idea of pokemon being our partners on this journey. The idea of replacing HMs with items is awful. You have these superpowered monsters in your pocket and instead of using them to interact with the world and solve problems you use regular every day items. How boring and uncreative.
HMs should be changed so they don't waste moveslots on party members, but the idea of using your pokemon to navigate throughout the world should never be changed, and IMO should actually be expanded on.
Not a problem. Just make the HM moves TMs and allow Pokemon to use those moves in the overworld after you obtain the corresponding key items.
So you can still use Surf to ride on your Lapras, but only after you obtain a raft key item.

Then you're stuck having to switch moves every time you want to use a field move, which would be an extra hassle. You might as well just keep the HM in one of the slots. Why not make HM moves forgettable? Its a dumb restriction carried over from earlier games and you can't even transfer mon with HM moves anyway.
Saves so much trouble

Why did we get Delphox then?
Well that doesn't make much sense because why would you own a raft then. How about this one: HM's work like TMs for battle moves, so they're deletable now, but owning a HM is like owning the raft key item you're describing. You own the HM and any Surf compatible Pokemon now has the ability to use Surf in the overworld, with no need to actually to teach it. Teaching is only for if you want to use it in battle.
That would work but then HM's should be Gym Leader TM's.
That would help pacing so you get the TM at the proper time in the story.
The Phys-Special split didn't completely change how types were affected, it just made it so that damage type was decided by the move itself and not by the type. Completely different from removing a type
I saw these on /vp/, I don't think the circus theme is really what they were going for to be honest---Popplio definitely has that as its theme given it's based on a peforming sea lion but Rowlet's bow-tie just seems to be referencing how owls are often considered noble and intelligent creatures, and I think Litten representing a tiger jumping through a flaming hoop is really stretching it since it's aesthetic is going for a punk look, but these mock-ups are pretty good...

I suppose you're right about that. I could see it being water/psychic. I'm not a fan if it goes that route but I just dislike circus themed stuff in general so Popplio probably won't be for me. I think it's likely Rowlett will evolve into a grass/fighting or grass/dark final Evo that has a similar build to the artist' sketch. The only thing I dislike is the wing proportions and the clothing aspect. I've always liked how all of the grass starters incorporate a plant aspect that takes over. While I see them playing up that aspect with a top hat and coat. I hope they do something more creative incorporating a plant design into it somewhat like all other grass evos. Bulbasaur had that bulb on its back that eventually became a giant flower. Chicorita had flower buds around its neck that eventually developed to full grown blossoms. Treeko has a small grassy tail that developed into a giant fern/tree. Turtwig started off with one sprout and developed a small tree on its back. Snivy's was a combination of a snake and a vine so it's tail represented the vine aspect and it slowly grew through each evolution. Chespin represented a chestnut. As it evolved it represented the chestnut opening and sprouting. So I'd like to see something like that incorporated into Rowlett's design. Why did we get Delphox then?
You don't understand. GF can make any point in the game challenging. They just choose not to. It has nothing to do with the game mechanics but everything with the game structure. But the first routes are also very short and you can catch other Pokemon almost immediately.

I'm going to spend the entire summer believing that Litten will remain on all fours. I won't face this [probable] reality until I'm forced to.Unfortunately the more I think about it the more I see Littens final evo looking like a cat beelzemon. Definitely bipedal. Lmao
I still remember the freakout Chispin stans had when Quilladin was shown
fucking hilarious
Problem with people guessing final evolutions is that it looks too much like their first form, just bigger with more details.
Never forget

That's because we like the first forms. I really hope they don't pull a gen 5 & 6 and make the starters awful when they evolve.
