Pokémon Sun and Moon Starters Revealed. Releases November 18th 2016.

Waiting on final evolutions before I decide (burned so hard on Samurott) but I think all these designs are good! Rowlett and Popplip are too adorable :3

I'm trying real hard to come up with well-designed megas and I honestly can't.

While it's subjective, I don't have a problem with Lucario, Audino, Pidgeot, Gardevoir, Lopunny, Banette or the Mewtwos. Mawile as well. Kangaskhan is weird, since it doesn't really change but rather the baby grows up a little, so I can't hate on it design-wise either lol.

Lucario, while some will say it's overdesigned or whatever (assuming they don't just hate on Lucario itself), still feels like a proper amped up, super-saiyan power up form to me x.x

Mega Audino and Mawile I could actually see as proper evolutions, kinda wish they had gotten proper evolutions for that matter.

I didn't even know there's a Mega Audino. :lol

Not bad. She looks like a proper cleric. Too bad the megastone prevents her from using leftovers. Clefable still GOAT cleric.

Mawhile. Eh. Never liked how she faces the opposite direction. Her mega is also not that clever.

The Moon legend is cool its unique but the sun legend is also cool but remidns me to much of Entei

thing I want in this game

1. Hard Mode from the start
2. 2nd region Kalos 16 badges
3. Post game content

I'm not particularly fond of the concept of Mega Evolving, but you can't deny there's some designs in there that even put the originals to shame.

I honestly prefer Charizard X to Y, though I don't love either of them. Y's arm blade things are disturbing. It also suffers from "moar sprikes" syndrome. Though they both do to an extent.

I'd rather just have a shiny Charizard than either of them =p

You know what? After thinking about it more, the existence of Mega Audino just makes me extra pissed that they didn't give her that as a proper evolution like they did with Chansey. What's the reasoning behind it? Because they need to promote this shitty ass gimmick that actually prohibits someone like Audino from blossoming because of the imposed one-of limitation and lack of held item diversity? It makes sense for Pokemon who already have 3 stages of evolution, but this is asinine. So kindly fuck off, GF.

This is the only travesty.
(That, and how fugly the legends are... IMO)

I like the sun lion x.x The bat instantly made me change my mind on which version I'm maining, though. I hate it less now than I did initially, but I dunno if I'll ever like it lol.

(It probably won't actually affect which version I main, but still, it could. May still use Moon as my primary just because moon.)

Boss please. Stahp. I rather it follow the path of serperior or lean bulk instead of becoming a different animal completely lol.

This is what I'm hoping for, too. The last two generations have done this with the Water-type starters, and I freaking hated it. I just want safe, cool final evolutions like Gen 1-4 (not sure if I can count gen 3 because ugh, Combusken and Blaziken)

What? Greninja's fantastic, and Froakie's path to it is fine. It starts off with a bit of a thief motif and makes its way to ninja.

Edit: I don't love Frogadier, but I try to write off middle stages, because they're often awkward anyway lol.

Edit2: Hell, Greninja's probably my favorite fully evolved water starter, followed by Swampert (but fuck Mega Swampert).

Greninja's basically the king of the water starters at this point. Popplio's got some huge footsteps to fill

Wow there are people hating on Chesnaught.. he is GOAT material. The only pokemon who made me not pick the fire starter for once
i admit it was delphox's fault

I really hope they don't ruin litten's evolution like the last 2 fire starter abominations. Gamefreak why you hating on fire starters :'(

And i think popplio looks best out of these 3, i don't get the hate

Didn't they already do that with the Tepig line's tail?

Watch Litten's final evo be an enourmous red and black spiky furball that looks like it exploded.

Would be funnier than Stoutland's final evolution.

The reason your img tag wasn't working even after fixing the url is because of the newline.

(Also Stoutland is Stoutland's final evolution ;p)

Catch a Poliwrath.

Yeah, catching Arceus would be a good way to get past that.

You gotta take advantage of your Pikachu's I-Frames when you roll.

haha i was wondering why my post did not show in the souls thread :p

Try Hyper Beam.

But real talk, just roll in and time your rolls you do it just before the attack hits you. Be aggressive, they stagger easily and you can use that to make them attack less. Also I'd recommend upgrading your weapon, you can easily reach +2 or +3 assuming it requires normal Titanite Shards.

Yeah! I finally got him yesterday, i think it took me like 4 hours and 60 tries .. it was insane with sweat, tears and yelling

I do not get the Emboar hate, at least not from a design standpoint. Guy looks like he would travel the ends of the earth to protect his trainer without making a big deal out of it. Granted, I am only going off of ingame art.

Fire/Fighting. That was the last thing anybody wanted to see after Blaziken and Infernape.

Yesterday I discovered MegaMedicham exists. And I think there are still some megas I don't know about. I thought I had already seen them all...

I know lists are so last week, but these are ones I went with thus far for my first run:

  • Kanto: Charmander
  • Johto: Cyndaquil
  • Hoenn: Treecko
  • Sinnoh: Piplup
  • Unova: - White 1: Tepig
  • Unova: - White 2: Snivy
  • Kalos: Chespin

  • Alola: Popplio

In hindsight there's a few that I would have changed, not huge on Charmander these days but as a kid nothing was cooler.

This is actually my main issue with mega evolutions. Mega evos are fine for Pokemon like charizard but no for pokemons with single or no evos. I hope past pokemons get real evos instead of just megas but I doubt it

Yep. Here's hoping we don't get any new mega evolutions ever again.

The point is that audio was a garbage Pokemon and they were never going to make an evolution for it, so instead they gave it a mega evolution.

Hands down the worst part about Gen IV was all of the bad designs of evolutions that forever ruined a handful of Pokemon like Rhydon. I much prefer the mega approach than adding on an evolutionary form for no reason. I'm not too worried though, I don't think we'll see any new traditional evolutions outside of like maybe Eevee.

Most megas make the originals look tame and boring. Even mega Gyarados has grown on me and I see it as an improvement. That thing looks vicious and regular Gyara is kind of just a lil shrimp with an awkward head to me now.

I know these are god awful quality, but it illustrates my point nicely.

Same with Scizor. Regular Scizor looks so crap compared to the mega after some time.

There's no reason that the design of mega Gyarados couldn't have been used as the design of a Gyarados evolution.

This way Gyarados is still useful, an extra strategy element is added to the game, and they don't need to add some bullshit convoluted way to evolve it.

Mega Evolution is a million times better and I'm glad Gamefreak is ignoring the people who think otherwise.

"Irritate Gyarados in Pokemon Amie until it reaches a happiness level of zero and then level up to evolve into Gyarados 2"

There's no reason that the design of mega Gyarados couldn't have been used as the design of a Gyarados evolution.

Except that it's god awful and I don't want to ever feel like I need to turn it permanently into that abomination to make proper use of it x.x
