What is the scariest box art?

So I was going through some of my favorite games, and noticed the japanese box art to RLH. I've never seen it before now, but I can easily say it's the scariest box art I have ever seen. As a kid, I would have probably reversed the art work to just show the white paper if the US version had it. Also another case of japanese box art > US box art. The US version is so bland. I'll use this space that no one reads to say that RLH, The Thing, and Extermination were the greatest trio of sci fi action horror on the PS2 and possibly ever for any console gen.

Interested to see what other people post. Fully expecting some old games no one remembers with box art that are scary for all the wrong reasons.

Rightly terrified me when I saw it, little did I know it was just a sign of how much Konami cares about their franchises.

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.

This fucked me up as a kid.

For me it's gotta be

I'd never assume this was a car combat game, judging from the cover alone. It's a fine game, don't get me wrong - I own the entire series - but this cover, as well as the music and tone to the whole game, it creeps me out.

I remember looking at the image constantly, yet never getting the game. Played years later and wished I would have picked it up as a kid.

Always thought it was a shame they dialed it back for Twisted Metal on PS3. The dark stories for all of the characters were done so well, and really fell into place great with calypso. Though at the same time it really does let it stand out, there's truly nothing else like it.

That's a good one too. Like you I remember seeing it all the time as a kid (in the video store).

EDIT: beaten by SECONDS. holy shit lol

What are the odds that we picked the same exact image xD

Yikes! Definitely some 90's level over-the-top going on there, eheh. Glad I never saw that as a kid.

I know I'm cheating here, but the inside cover of the Silent Hill case scared the hell out of me as a child.

It's creepier within context. I'm sure nobody expects to find someone looking back at you when you open up a game case.

If the US had gotten that Run Like Hell cover, I would have been interested in actually playing it... now I actually DO want to play it.

I can't think of any legitimately scary ones off of the top of my head, but the Bust-A-Move '99 entry is good in both a funny and scary way. One of the Bust-A-Move games had a baby with sunglasses blowing a bubble that was kind of fucked up.

Not even scared of clowns but the Toonstruck one was especially creepy.

I swear this game did so poorly because of the box art. It makes it look like some kind of circus themed horror game. The 90's were not kind to new IP's.

Saw this at a Radioshack or Comp USA back in the day, freaked me out. They had to change the cover later to something tamer apparently.
