Gran Turismo Sport Unveiling live stream discussion (incl. FIA Championship gameplay)

He probably didn't saw Nurb gameplay. He just saw that trailer. That's the point. The statement that game looks poor and like PS3 is BULLSHIT. And those gifs looks much better than anything in the trailer ( except photomode scenes ).

Those GIFs are NOT gameplay and neither are the videos, they are from the REPLAY mode. Who knows what actual gameplay looks like.

Didn't know that replay is not the gameplay. If those gifs are from replay. Naaah, probably from some intro or something.

I wonder why PD and Sony chose the Ring, an apparently unfinished track, to show off GTS with the trailer.

It's 6 months from release, they must have at least one finished tracks that would do a better job at showing off the game.

The 'Ring is also the absolute worst track in sim racing for actual racing. The track is so narrow and winding that the few overtaking opportunities are fraught with danger. That race was guaranteed to be a clusterfuck from start to finish, and the last thing PD needed to do was showcase the awful collision physics every couple of minutes.

Totally baffling decision making, but also totally expected.

The 2 things that stuck out the most to me during that stream, was the awful tire squealing and lack of mechanical/aero damage. If the game had the latter maybe it would help discourage all the messy driving that was going on. At least half of the cars would have needed to pit for repairs (especially in the first race). Was hilarious when Kaz himself pointed out that the Nurburgring race was rough lol.

watching GT trailers always brings me joy :) the cinematography the music it's always perfect.. it's always GT style....no matter how is looks it always has that exquisite feel.

Didn't know that replay is not the gameplay.

Who knows if the replay is even 60 fps, it could be 30.

Regarding graphics, I know we shouldn't judge these things in a hoover, I mean vacuum. It's obvious PSVR is taking its toll. Shit happens when you have to deliver a locked 60 fps.

Ok. Now this looks Good again.

And the graphic is changed because replay is 30 fps maybe? C'mon now.
It's actually very common in racing games to increase the graphical fidelity when entering photomode or replaymode. Because a ton of resources are suddenly freed up.

Look at what DC could do at 30 fps and look at other racing games going for 60 fps. The difference is of course huge, you have twice the time to render a frame.

I think 1 and 2 are from photomode.
third one is from Scale mode. (real location with GT car model)

The lighting is better in GT, but I would expect that, not convinced it's fair to compare a shot with a pre-rendered background against one with a background generated with the game engine.

That said, I want in game comparisons.

2016, and people still think photomode = gameplay graphics, and GIFs are representative of anything?

Come on, chaps.

But that GTS shot in my post is background generated with the game engine. It's obvious.

Why is this game being compared to Drive Club's graphics when it runs at twice the framerate? It had no chance of look as good...well maybe the Neo version can come close.

it is sure that the shaders for GT sports, highlights will be not as good as those of Driveclub :/

We don't have much direct feed footage of GTS.....only clips from that poor trailer.

If anything the fact that you can drop GTS cars into real photos and they don't look even remotely out of place just shows how spot on the the shaders are.

I'm afraid that counts for little around here, direct graphics comparisons are fair game.

It should count. On the one hand we people that complain that a game is neutered if it doesn't run at 60fps(too many games to mention), but when a game does run at 60fps we talk about how crap it looks(Halo, 5, Gears 4 MP and now GT Sport).

I'm sure it is not the same people making these contrasting statements, but it just goes to show that you cannot please every one.

GTS Vs DC (thanks to okami11408 - GTPlanet)

[IMG]http://i.cubeupload.com/Rz3k93.jpg[IMG]
If that's photomode, which it looks like to me, the comparison isn't fair. GTS should pull ahead in this comparison for a multitude of reasons.

GTS only needs to render the car in photomode which gives it a massive advantage over other games, as it's basically a model viewer in GTS

I can already see the photomode shots from GTS being spammed in the console screenshot thread :(
didn't stop the FM6 vs DC comparisons.
Which is one of the reasons why I decided to exit the Next-gen racing graphics thread for good.

I think the graphics are fine, not mind blowing but it's doing the job and will look great in VR. That sound though... Fuck it's really bumming me out :(

That's not a graphical changer IMO. Motion blur exists too during real gameplay.

DC shots are from Photomode, so, probably, GTS shots are from photomode too.

I'd have to disagree with that. Motion Blur and DOF without doubt can make a game look much much better.

Even if Motion Blur does exist during real gameplay, the level of quality can make a difference imo.

Anyway, I'm just hoping that the 'only 50%' finished is referring to 'mainly' graphical, effects, physics, crash damage visuals (if any) and sound.

Fingers crossed but I have a concern this game is perhaps made on a lower budget due to unexpected lower sales of GT6 (I'm thinking Sony might be thinking this even though taking everything into account such as shafting of GT5 by closing online and also a ps4 coming out very near the same time), they have chose a more focussed direction and are 'testing the waters' so to speak with this model.

Having the Beta scrapped perhaps puts up some red flags?

No? It's still going to be playable today to the public in London, next week it's going to be playable to the public at the 24h of Nurburgring. Next month it'll be at E3 and most likely Goodwood and/or Pikes Peak and so on. So they aren't hiding it. But putting together and running a beta requires a lot of resources, and those are likely better served putting toward completing the game for its November release.
