Ah, right. Do we have a list with all the sell-through announcements from Sony?

Ok, finding them by myself

4.2 millions as of December 28th, 2013 | 9.7 millions software | Tie ratio: 2.31
5.3 millions as of February 8th, 2014
6 millions as of March 2nd, 2014 | 13.7 millions software | Tie ratio: 2.28
7 millions as of April 6th, 2014 | 20.5 millions software | Tie ratio: 2.93
10 millions as of August 10th, 2014 | 30 millions software | Tie ratio: 3
18.5 millions as of January 4th, 2015 | 81.8 millions software | Tie ratio: 4.42
20.2 millions as of March 1st. 2015
30.2 millions as of November 22nd, 2015
35.9 millions as of January 3rd, 2016
40 millions as of May 22nd, 2016 | 270.9 millions software | Tie ratio: 6.8

What's with Sony releasing all these nonsense sell-through figures?
Are they just trying to divert attention away from potentially poor MAU?

Whats the YTD for NPD?

Around 1,141,000 as of April 2016.

What is NPD LTD?

Around 13,565,000 as of April 2016.

Considering how these are sales up to April, while the sell-through announcement is up to May 22nd, 2016, this means that US account for, at least, 27.83% of worldwide YTD sales and at least 33.91%

I wonder if this is the year the ps4 outsells the 3ds in terms of both hardware and software

It's only 4 million behind in terms of software

Basically another 11 months to ship 20 million more units.

VR
GTS
Neo
Price-drop
Strong Software and Holiday Sales

yeah...probably will hit the mark.

Well, if you bend the rules of physics a little, it could go this way: The Eco passenger experiencing turbulence while the business class passenger doesn't.
Going further with this, Business class passengers boarding the plane first could mean timed exclusives but that likely won't happen in this case :)

Probably something like 55 million by years end. 60 million by next March and like 70-75 million by next fall. Crazy. They'll make sure they hit those margins.
