As a huge Ibuki fan, she looks pretty good.
Better than I expected after the other character reveals.
I don't like the costume though. I hope she has a more traditional alt costume.

To me mixing the Ninja gear with the uniform just seems cheesy and pandering. It reminds of borderline ecchi anime where schoolgirls have super powers or armor or something but their super form is based on a sailor suit even though it looks ridiculous.

Yes it's possible. Well I'm a bit dissapointed since I really like Ibuki so I'd love to play in her own stage, but it's not a big deal. And yeah the Kanzuki stage kinda fit.
I think this is also the logic, really... like, Alex obviously fits the NYC stage. Guile got a military base because he's Guile. Ibuki fits on the Kanzuki stage, and we're getting a daytime variant. Balrog or Juri, you could go two ways - it'd be cool to have a Vegas stage (though if this isn't released before EVO, given EVO is in Vegas, they've fucked up) for Balrog, or alternatively you could probably do something very cool by either doing a Korea stage for Juri OR by 'redoing' the SIN base from 4, but in ruins after years of disuse and the explosion when Seth was killed etc.

I like skirts on someone like Sakura, who has worn her uniform so much it's literally her Gi now, so it makes sense. For Ibuki, who's always had separate uniforms(the ninja and the school girl one), to combine them is just pretty much nonsense, and yeah, lazy. Like, I can think of no justifiable reason you even combine them, really. Have it be pure one, or the other.
And yeah, she'll have other costumes, but that doesn't mean the default should be trash.
My my, thank you, was started to think I was the only one not liking her default "boring brown" ninja outfit.
Really like the mix between her school uniform and battle attire on the arms and legs here.

I like Ibuki in both SFIII and SFIV but this rendition isn't really improving her in my opinion.
her school outfit and the naruto references are maybe cool for the average joe but she just looks and sounds cheap in my opinion.

The hand seals for ninja techniques has been used in popular culture literal decades before naruto. It's a common ninja "trope"
She's already in the game and wears her school uniform.
Her ninja outfit and 3rd strike intro outfit are cooler

Uhh what? raida and yoroi dooishi have always been a blue spherical ball coming from her fist that pushes enemies away (a rasengan), where the hell do you get elbow from?
I meant as a playable character. How she shows up in the single player as of right now is pretty meaningless i feel if its not an official appearance in the roster

I always thought the opened sides were weird.
That's how those kind of outfits work in reality, the sides are usually not there.
Granted they took stylistic liberties by showing off her hips instead of having an undcloth, but that was an intentional design decision based on the obvious appeal unrelated to praticality

In-game (Third Strike), you can barely tell the sides are open at all. Hell, I didn't notice until just now and I've got hundreds of hours logged. I'd call that a badass outfit, sure.
At the very least, I'd say it's nowhere near, say, this:

Shes never one handed it and pulled her arm all the way back. Which is where people are calling out naruto references. Thats how naruto handles the rasengan.
If she did the attack how she normally does the attack, like she did it in four and three, no one would say anything. At most someone might reference the hyuga 8 palms due the proximity and color but thats it. But the animation to which is something naruto does, alot, with the same move.

the elbow attack is in sfiv but yeah she also grabs and attack the ribs with her fist.
But again the way she did it was very much her own thing.
when I say off brand Rasengan I'm more referring they way she does it reminds me so much of naruto. (and before you say anything I know naruto don't use hand signs to make his stupid Rasengan but you get what I'm saying)

There was never an elbow, yoroi doshi was also her fist. Also when Yoroi Doshi is done from far away she DOES move her arm back and the thrusts it forward with an open palm to produce a red sphere which then becomes a short beam.
Dunno why you are talking about her elbow super, when that's sf4 and not sf3, which came out before naruto (also even in that super the energy is coming from the palm of her hand).

Ibuki looks like she's going to be straight beast. She can throw her kunais from the ground now, has a bomb set up, a Dhalsim float, looks like a command jump like Chun-Li, on top of her already strong arsenal. Shit, I don't know who I'll be maining now.

The outfit is her best yet. Ibuki player since SF3 and I think it looks way better than her traditional garb.

This won't happen in SFV because they won't cause her dash to have a damage penalty, but she'll still fall in the same amount of time as Cammy.

Why does this response keep popping up? It's a clear straw man. No-one has advanced the argument that Ibuki was created based on Naruto or that Naruto invented ninja's, but the animation and audio of the trailer are too close for it to be coincidence. Pretending *the trailer* isnt partially inspired by or a (less than) subtle reference to Naruto seems wilfully ignorant. Are people worried that its going to affect the "purity" of Street Fighter? Because I've got bad news for you on that front, as mentioned previously one of her win quotes references Naruto, shocking that the SF team may be familiar with popular culture I know. I'm no particular fan of Naruto, but seeing people freak out at others outlining the obvious connections to the trailer is odd.
