Street Fighter V - Ibuki reveal

Again with this what came first shit! Did you listen to the songs? Listen to the Ibuki trailer and then listen to The Rising Fighting Spirit from Naruto. Ibuki's theme was made to sound like the Naruto song as if to say, "Hey doesn't this remind you of Naruto? Yeah, we love Naruto here too.".
lol alright man.

Let's get one thing straight. I don't want to hate Street Fighter 5. But I'll be damned if I can't find another game as badly mismanaged as this one this generation. It's the most disappointing game of the year, and it's not even close at this point. Capcom is like Secretariat at the Belmont with this right now.

Right.

All you do is complain on both gaming side and the community threads.

Why would you do that???

It's clear as day that this incarnation is inspired by Naruto. It's true that Naruto didn't invent any of those tropes. But the combination of the music, etc really gives it a homage to that show .

The only thing that's missing is a premium costume inspired by it.

Not sure what the fuss about that is anyway *shrug*

What I'm fussed about however is how Capcom is rather terribly at communication which is rather frustrating. It doesn't hurt much to say that Ibuki is coming this month still or appears with the big update.

Like I said, I don't WANT to hate it, but I do hate it because I feel like Capcom has completely mismanaged it to the point where I cannot enjoy it the way I like to enjoy fighting games. From who thinking their market was and what they wanted, to not providing said audience with a solid experience on that end, Capcom bungled this game. When you build an online heavy, e-sports heavy game like Capcom did, you better have your ducks in a row, but they did not, and still do not. The game still has issues, they aren't being addressed, and their lack of communication about issues is not doing them any favors with anyone. And these are issues not related to the game's lack of content.

Since there's no pattern w/these trailers, I'm betting the music in Ibuki's trailer is the stage theme. I'm almost certain she'll have a remix of her Twilight 3S theme.

She has three different timings with her bomb, huh. And I'm guessing she can manually ignite it with that flaming kunai of hers in the trailer. Probably has some other way too.

I hope so. I mean, Guile's trailer had his theme IIRC, but that's only because the theme's bigger than the character. Hopefully this means we'll see Twilight, then, because that theme is dope.

I was hoping her V-Trigger would make her go invisible like Chipp/Reptile style.

Oh well there's always Guy

I can't think of a single fighting game with a well-done invisibility mechanic outside of Sly Cooper in PSASBR. The issue is that either you're too hard to see your own character, or the hints as to where you are become obvious to your opponent as well. Hell, it only worked for Sly because you have room to run away with!

The real question is does sf have a pirate character so I can say one piece invented pirates that be pretty sweet lol.

Jokes aside she looks cool, pretty flashy and quick

Someone on Reddit brought up the idea that Capcom likely assumed that we knew that she was coming tomorrow since it's so close to the end of May. If that's true, then it was a poor assumption to make.

I'm pretty sure that most of us have exactly same idea? I meant it's their habit to release the characters at ALMOST last day of month so this time, it might not be surprising to see Ibuki tomorrow but who knows. /shrugs

But the music doe

Personally, I think her super is an intentional nod to Naruto.

The music, though? Does GAF know anything about traditional Japanese instruments? We're talking four-stringed lutes and very simple woodwinds, here. There are only so many variations that can be done with them, especially if you're going for high-energy, up-tempo music that's intentionally homage to the sort of Japanese theatrical performances that most of the modern ninja tropes (black pajamas with masks, kuji-in hand signs, logs in clothing, etc.) actually derived from.

I finally have reason to start playing SFV again!

Also, question - I have Street Fighter V on PS4. If I wanted to double dip and get it on PC, would I be able to use my same account? Or would I have to make another one? How does that work?

You have to make a second CFN account.

Poor communication by Capcom yet again, but i'm glad that the story expansion was mentioned in the blog post as still being targeted for June. I'm assuming story expansion & the other 'goodies' they teased at the end of the post, plus Ibuki, are all launching at the same time in June. I just wish Capcom would come out & announce it already.

Also, Ibuki looks fantastic. Game continues to get better.

Right. They just decided not to remix one of her old themes and made a new one that sounds like the most iconic song from one of the most popular anime in the world from the last 16 years by accident.

Which still boggles my mind. If it's something related to how Sony & Valve operate their online communities, then I'd somewhat understand. But it's still weird how your CFN doesn't carry over between platforms.
