edit: and can't forget about Knack 2!

I wonder if Knack 2 is actually a thing that would happen. Like, it sold well right? But Sony has to know the game wasn't well received and that the sales were probably just due to it being a launch title? And wouldn't Cerny's talents be better used on something like Crash? But after Knack would people even believe Cerny still has the ability to pump out a good platformer?

The future of the Knack IP seriously puzzles me.

Does anyone think Sony could do a surprise PS4K BC for all prior PlayStation consoles or would they just leave it to PS Now? Is there anything saying it's a possibility? Maybe they want to react to X1's BC.

I would buy a Neo day one if it meant native BC. I'm a PS Now subscriber, and while I'm really behind the idea of the service, it still has a issues that make it difficult for me use properly (shooters are awful to play with so much input lag; all I want to do is play Resistance 3 with a DS4). And I hate using my PS3 because I'm missing out on the PSN features the PS4 has, the faster OS, and the better controller.

If Knack 2 is really happening, then the only feasible reason why is because Mark Cerny is inexplicably invested in the Knack universe and demanded he be given the opportunity to make a sequel. Sony, in order to maintain their budding relationship with the man who contributed much to the PS4's success, replied "S-s-sure, okay, but let this be the last one yeah?" But we all know that Cerny gets the final say in matters such as these, and if he wants to make Knack 3, then he damn well's gonna make Knack 3.

What if the new Crash Bandicoot is being made by the team who did Knack.
The trailer will feature Knack surprise cameo and a sequel tease.

Oh Gopher is lurking.

And he seems excited, which in turn makes all fans of Sony excited if they know his fabled status on Gaf.

I miss Verendus tho.

His posts confused the shit out of me but I always laughed - wouldnt be surprised if he was behind the legendary FakeKazCEO twitter.

And I like you would love to see Agent return this E3. :D

Was Verendus banned? Whats going on? I feel like there's less hype then usual. Where are the gifs and stuff :(

someone brought this up way back but what if the Knack 2 listing is just a codename for Crash?

Crash and Knack really play nothing alike but I will never miss an opportunity to use this GIF

Knack Bandicoot

Dr. Knack Cortex is mad that he has been usurped. Knack was a mascot for a new generation, but he was rejected. So he seeks revenge on Crash.

Then it turns into a Crunch Bandicoot situation where it turns out Knack was just under mind control and they become BFFs.

To be blunt, it shouldn't have a future. I don't know why Sony would see anything viable about that IP.

I don't think Sony would either, but sometimes Sony does weird things and I could see Knack 2 being one of those things.

I like Knack so I woudl not mind a Knack 2 so yeah opinions and all.

I think the point is that if they can 1) make Knack 2 or 2) make another 'mascot platformer' (if you can call Knack this) that isn't hamstrung by the stigma of the Knack IP, no matter how good Knack 2 could be, then why would they ever go for number 1?

There's no great value to Sony in Knack. If they wanted to expand on it they could do so with a new IP that won't be met with nothing but skepticism upon reveal.

Pretty much. Sony has great mascot platforms like Ape Escape and Jumping Flash that have been unused for years. Why not go back to them given that their reputation among gamers is positive and there's a lot of nostalgia for them? I just don't see any reason to continue Knack as a series. It really can't be ignored that launch titles tend to sell more than they would if they were released outside of that window, and Knack was often bundled. Nor can the Metacritic be ignored when it's that low (54).

No hes just very quiet.....suspiciously quiet.

Sunhilegend and Demonites gifs are just amazing. I really hope they do some for E3 2016.

The Playstation Meeting 2013 thread was gold and had me laughing for days with the GIFs.

This obsession with "insiders" is really quite weird.

They're not always right.

I can't see how they couldn't talk about Neo... I expect the system upgrades are a big topic for both MS and Sony.

PSVR final E3 showing!

That would be banking on VR being a dud and not even being a fad that lasts a year... not saying that's impossible, but that is what it would mean. If VR takes off, it will be part of all E3s going forward.

What if Knack 2 is a buddy cop game co-starring Crash

On the topic of Crash and whether it should be developed by Naughty Dog, I'm not too invested in that whole discussion. I do think that something is indeed happening with Crash (though I wouldn't immediately jump to it being a new game necessarily). I also think the "Naughty Dog is above making such games" and "it's a waste of their talent" comments are a poor way to say that a new Crash game probably doesn't fit their skillset.

At the same time, I don't know how well utilized ND's writing chops will be for a mute character like Crash. I also think that ND being unsure about Jak and Daxter (which would be a good enough middle ground for platforming gameplay and story) also makes me think twice about whether they would touch a new Crash game.

Really though, I don't mind whether it's Naughty Dog or not. What really interests me is whether they'll fully get the IP, because I honestly think it'd be a mistake if they didn't and only got licensing for it for a few games. Oh and also, I want Spiralmouth to make the soundtrack for a new Crash game if it happens. Twinsanity's acapella soundtrack was amazing and I need more of it

Is it? I thought the only new thing we were seeing was a new Unravel?

Not really new, since thats is prob Hazelight Studios game, which we already saw a teaser in VGX 2014. Since we also saw Criterion's game in some way at E3 2014 I dont know how much that count as new as well

EA Montreal has been quiet for a while, maybe its their game. Or maybe even Bioware reveals the new IP, McNally was flooring GDC with a shirt referencing the game and no one got the clue, maybe its time to show that.

They have to announce Neo. Given all the unfortunate leaks if they don't regardless of what goes on in the conference the media and gamers alike will slay them for staying quiet.

If it is coming this year E3 is better for preparing than waiting till Gamescom. Not to mention by then the fricking console itself will probably have been leaked via some manufacturing plant photos.

Norse GoW? For real? Awesome.

I don't care about Crash and never did and I don't want a stopgap PS 4.5, so E3 probably won't be super exciting.

Yesterday I speed-watched (1.5x speed + skipped trailers) last years conference in order to adjust my expectations for this year. What I did was that I took note of when they started talking about things and when they stopped talking about things in order to get an idea of how time was allocated to the different things. The time measurements are not exact and I may have missed some minor things but hopefully it can give you a rough idea. Anyway, here it is:

I'll probably be posting some predictions based on this later.

If anything I expect a bigger CoD demo to try and claw back some goodwill from Battlefield 1.

Just show this and they'll be golden

In this way, "you can be boots on ground, fighting through the streets of a city on earth, call down your Jackal, get into it, fly up through the atmosphere, engage in a dogfight over the orbit of earth, finish that dogfight, land on the deck of the carrier, get into the carrier, go up to the bridge, and order your ship to go to the next mission and all of it happens seamlessly with no loading screens."

In a 2 minute trailer heck yea! Please don't demo it.

Lets take it a step further just make the entire conference CoD.

Sony : We know their have been chatter on the internet of our relationship with Activision regarding a beloved franchise so to celebrate our Partnership we are dedicating our whole conference to Modern Warfare 1 Remaster Singleplayer Demo, Modern Warfare 1 Remaster Multiplayer Demo, Infinte Warfare Singleplayer Demo, Infinite Warfare Multiplayer Demo and Call of Duty League Season 2 Begins Live on Stage, That'll be all for our this year E3 presentation. Thank You for coming and enjoy the show.

You guys leave Knack alone!!!

Yeah if it's launching this year then it must be announced at E3. I think a PS4 price drop will have to come with it, to really keep PS4 sales momentum going until it does. I'm hoping for a miracle and that we get a super value bundle of Neo and PSVR that slashes a chunk of money off. It's pretty much never going to happen but we can dream.

PS4 got it's price and physical reveal at E3 before a September launch in 2013 so it's the right time for it. The fact the library will be shared across both consoles will mean PS4 sales shouldn't be dented too much, people who know they can upgrade later on but really want to play Uncharted now for instance would have less to worry about just getting the PS4 now and worrying about the upgrade later, especially if the PS4 gets a handy price drop in the meantime.

Sony won't be announcing Neo at E3. Considering the negativity (by a vocal minority in my opinion - could be wrong though), uncertainty and possible misinterpretation surrounding the platform, Sony need more than the 15-20 minutes they will have available to them to explain and sell the system to us.
A dedicated event where they have the time to get their messaging right and answer all the many questions surrounding the console comprehensively, would be a lot more appropriate.
And why is everyone taking 2016 release as granted? Didn't Osirisblack and that Sony guy (forgot his name) both mention a possible March 2017 launch?

PS4 Neo launches the same day as PSVR and isn't announced until two weeks beforehand via a small press release. If Sony was really smart, they wouldn't do this at all but since I believe that it's 100% going to happen, they should just eliminate the current PS4 and release the Neo at $350 to replace the current PS4. Kind of like a stealth launch/replacement.

I definitely don't see them talking about Neo at E3 unless they want to decrease their console sales for the next four months which would be beyond stupid. And I definitely see Neo releasing in October because there would be no point in having a standard mode and a neo mode requirement starting October 1st.
