The Witcher III: Blood & Wine |OT| One last contract, one last plough

Patched and preloaded hope I get to play but where I live in Texas is flooding pretty bad and more rain is on the way. Had to evacuate this morning hope it doesn't get bad tonight.

Well shit the hype has gotten to me. Time to finish off Uncharted 4 and Hop back into the Witcher.

The end of two eras. Sad.

Weird, the game gave me all of the experience to get from 39 to 40 as soon as I loaded it. I just needed to trigger a single experience point. Before patching, I was only at the very start of level 39. GOG version.

edit: The same thing is happening for all of my pre-patch saves.

I've encountered a few strange bugs that I attribute to the patch. Just encountered a golem with no health bar that wouldn't die, and also a shield dude with infinite stamina earlier.

Yeah this happened to me. I had actually just hit 41 yesterday, and when I loaded the game up just now after installing the patch, I was 2100/2100 XP, so I killed something and now I'm 42, lol

Patch is awesome so far. Pretty sure the graphics are better. Also, the new music O_O

I can understand the inventory.

I CAN UNDERSTAND THE INVENTORY!

I can't play Blood & Wine yet :/

Same thing here going from 39 to 40. Funny thing is I was around 700 exp yesterday when I loaded it up, and after the patch it put me at 2000

I'm going to explore so slowly when I play it.

I don't really want an answer, but I'm curious if you can get to whatever it is that you need to do to dye your armor early, so you can use it on lower level sets while playing from the start.

Not sure why you're liking the new UI. Seems just as slow as the old one, if not slower. Multiple second pauses when switching to ingredient/quest item tabs and one second pauses every time I enter the map.

Easier to read.

merchant near St. Gregory's Bridge in Gildorf district of Novigrad.

Port to the bridge then go down from it and left. Should see a store.

Thank you.

Verify/repair - that's very often a sign of a corrupted download

Hm, the new UI still highlights new items but the UI no longer places new items at the top of a list. That means that the stupid asterisk on the item category will stick around until you manage to move your cursor over the new item, even if it's buried two thirds down a list of two hundred items.

Someone will have to check things out when they get to a part where you control
Ciri
. Getting hit during Blink now. Not good on death march.
That has happened since beginning. Hence why I absolutely hate the section in Novigrad. Too tight spaces, gotta Blink through enemy to kite- OHNOWAITDEAD

This happened to me on ps4 as well.

You can order items. I didn't look at the options for it but isn't there one for newest items first?

LMAO yes

As others have said, I had recently grinded to level 39 and saved. Loaded the game with the new patch, I was at 2000/2000 at 39, killed some level 7 bandits running around and I'm now at level 40 huzzah! I can get grandmaster shit as soon as possible when I start the expansion!

I mean broken mods and game saves with mods isn't all that unusual. That being said I feel like for every ten things that get fixed in a patch one new things breaks.

Big patches tend to do that. So far though it's only the XP "rounding", broken mods (norm) & some people dislike how armor textures look like (they were slightly altered in order to accommodate the new dyeing mechanics).

The new menu is so good layout-wise. It still takes forever to load the crafting/alchemy tab on PS4 though.

I went from 39 to 40 too, no complaints.

I just checked: I'm still level 39 and have 2000/2000 XP. It's broken, isn't it? :(

edit: No, it isn't.

No. Just get an experience point and you'll be 40.
guys just go kill something, anything. You'll go to the next level.
That was it. Thanks guys!

It's so good being back in this game.

Did you guys get to 39/40 on a NG playthrough or NG+?

Need to try and get up to 40 over the next few hours from 36. Think I have some quests to do.

NG. If you were level 40 on NG+ you wouldn't be anywhere near the level for this expansion lol.

You can start this expansion at 36 an above I believe though. The closer you are to 40 the better though from what I hear.

Some awesome new QoL improvements. I love how the map doesn't get stuck on every icon anymore when you scroll across it with the gamepad cursor.

I got to 39 on the first NG. I grinded my way from 38 to 39 so I could wear a certain armor from the first DLC.

So on PS4, when holding L2 to compare it shows the comparison for a second but then switches to player stats.

Also, while holding down on the dpad while scrolling through inventory it too switches to player stats after a second.

Edit 3! Dont like how the new items are at the bottom of the inventory instead of the top as they were before the patch.

Okay, haven't played in a few months and have played so many games on the in-between that I've really forgotten my way around the game a bit. Not much, most stuff is coming back to me as I mess around.

I got the Gwent book and it says 0 for Novigrad, Skellige, 1 for White Orchard, and 27 for random players I guess. Does this mean there's just 1 left for me to get in WO and the remaining 27 can be acquired just by simply playing random people? Not sure how that works.

Quick question...

Bought the Ghent book, it shows that I'm missing a card from white orchard. I had beat the guy in the inn. And I bought all the innkeeper cards, so at a loss?

I did go back to check the other vendor and he had no cards for me!

We're the same, you and I

But seeing 0 for the other locations brings warm feelings to my heart. Still, 28 to go in total and was relieved that I didn't get a failure notification.
