Street Fighter V - Ibuki reveal

Agree... im digging her new outfit too.

Also gives me hope that the next time we see Sakura in this game she'll have a new outfit as well.

But "surprises" means nothing in regards to SFV when we consider its current state, the details they already planned for it, what still isn't available, and the fact that an Ibuki reveal trailer was a "surprise."

I mean, all the characters in the 'current' timeline in the story prologues have been their default outfits. That, plus Ono basically saying Sakura's a school-girl for life, leads me to believe she's still gonna be in her school girl outfit.

Whats the big deal anyway about Sakura's outfit? Its just her iconic outfit at this point. Other than 'female ryu', that schoolgirl outfit is her entire character.

Oh god. Well, at least the bomb toss is pretty slow/floaty, so I dunno if she'd be able to properly set up more than one for oki even off a hard knockdown.

Welp, 20 hours left to go until it's June in Japan. I bet they're delaying her release until the story mode patch.

Again, nothing and I repeat NOTHING is based on Japan's time zone involving Street Fighter V.
It is all handled out of the US
 
Her boots and her gloves look cool and I expect she'll still have a nice flashy, combo-rific fighting style. I hate the school girl look though... and her hair. I always hated her bizarre hair. I'd have much preferred a sexy ninja look instead.
If Capcom could only push her design in the direction of Mai or Kasumi :)

I dont really like the school ninja outfit mix. Is she still in school?

She wasn't easy to use in IV or III, what with super jump cancels in her combos, and here she has an extra meter (kunai) as well having her V-Trigger act as a bomb to continue combos. She seems like she'll be one of the most challenging characters to use in V.

Actually, Ibuki's age has never been revealed as far as I know...as with most of the SF3 cast.

She's a high school/college student during our exposure to her.

I think the only SF3 character with an actually defined age was Elena, who was supposedly 17 during Second Impact.

Since SF2 and Alpha, they really don't define ages very much anymore.
 
Apparently Winner Stays On airs at 3 PM EST and Guile was released 10 PM EST so it's not like launch will overlap with that session. I can't find a time when Alex was released, though.

Nobody calls Scorpion,Subzero,RyuHayabusa or Strider as Naruto. Ibuki has some changes which blatantly reference Naruto. That music sounds like it was just ripped from Naruto.

What changes? Pretty much everything in the trailer is inspired by Ibuki's traditional moveset or stereotypical ninja stuff.

The music sounds like it was ripped from...a wide variety of classic Japanese inspired media..

It's like when people see Izuna Drops and credit those to Rock Lee just because Rock Lee is all they know.

I've seen people try to claim that Liger Bombs came from Naruto, because that's all they know.

Enough is enough.

She's still wearing the school outfit in the story mode. I don't think there's any reason to think she won't if she gets added to the playable roster.

Theres no reason to think she won't keep the exact same outfit while everyone else gets new costumes? Makes no sense to me guy, literally zero people besides ryu and chun have kept their original appearances

My bet is she will be wearing her red tracksuit jacket and bike shorts

There were actually like two assholes booing that it wasn't Balrog, and you can kinda hear them at the end of the video... but it's very clear that wasn't the group consensus.

My favorite part is that the girl hopping up and down excitedly at the end is SlimeTime, a player that mained Ibuki during USF4. Cool to see that she's pumped to have her girl back.

Yeah, definitely a different crowd @ E3. Though I don't think a trailer would make a splash even if it was an unexpected fan favorite.
 
I wonder if people will see the Chun references in Juri. They basically are light/dark reflections of each other. Bipson killed their dads,spike bracelets, they kick lots, both want Ryu hair buns ect.
