The Witcher III: Blood & Wine |OT| One last contract, one last plough

Netherlands here, still no download.. Worst part is it's already one hour passed midnight and I don't have much time tomorrow..

Also when you use the website? The downloadbutton didn't show for me on the PS4 itself, but did get it to download through the website ('buy', download to PS4). I have the season pass btw.

Started downloading about an hour ago, 95 seconds left now, so I can finally go to bed and have my witcherday tomorrow.

Edit: that is if you have the PS4-version of course...

I don't think there's a version out yet that's compatible with the new patch, but the debug console will allow you to set your level by entering:

setlevel(64)

I can't imagine it'll be long before the new version is on the nexus site.

Oh wow, that's great. Yeah I'll look forward to the console update then.
Have you tried it before? Does it break any quests or anything or would it be the same as just grinding mobs to get that level?

EU season pass owner and I started my download just now.I had to go through the psn store though and manually download it because I couldn't from the related items tab

14GB is way too much so I ll play tomorrow

Tried, but nothing. The code just doesn't work witch the retail gwent version.

Just checked that patch and...Jesus. It took them a year and me finishing the main game and HoS but I can now finally read the menu text on my TV (PC). LOL!

Question about the level scaling for enemies...

If im level 10 and the enemies are level 15, will the level scaling lower those enemies to my level? Am I facing equal leveled enemies the entire game? Thanks.

This fucking game. Huge improvements on IQ and vegetations( PC ). They reduced aliasing on metal objects... Looks very good and i can play it at 30 fps ( with high / extreme settings ) on my GTX 670 without any issues.

So weird that since the 1.07 patch they screwed up the "default inputModuleNeededToRun" line in the player.ws file from -10 to -1 and haven't fixed it. Why remove the option for a slower walk?

Wait what, I though I already preloaded on Xbox ages ago,

Ive been hit with a 15GB patch? I thought I already downloaded the patch

Anyone else on Xbox here?

Hot damn that new title music. Shame I can't play it until tomorrow afternoon, but I feel like I'm getting into something good here.

The enemy scaling isn't an expansion feature but a patch addition as part of the 1.21 update.

It works everywhere in the game.

Just to make you aware this only affects enemy levels relative to your own, it will not effect quest rewards, experience gain, or dropped items. It's a difficulty modifier.

That's a pretty effing great explanation, thanks.

So if a quest offered a "level 43" armor piece, and I did it at level 10, that item would not scale at all and I would need to level to 43 to be able to use it. Experience gains would be unmodified and the level curve the same. Money rewards too.

I simply can just do quests in any order I want in the world, rather than being bound by level and therefore it's difficulty. Not counting story quests.

I'm on Xbox and playing. Touisaint is gorgeous. I preloaded it today and had the patch this past Friday.

I don't think the preload was up more then say a week ago.

I almost wanna start a brand new game and this time use alchemy and all the other things I neglected on my normal playthrough. On the other hand that's a huge time commitment and I want to experience Blood and Wine ASAP.

Something must have gone wrong on my end, cause it literally is downloading the whole 15GB again, despte the fact that it was already preloaded

Fuck sake

Finishing up the Hearts of Stone quest line before starting the new one, and I've got Devourer limbs floating in mid air after they blow up. Not just one, all of them.

Love the game, but it seems each new version introduces new problems as well as fixing old ones.

Not quite. It will only affect enemy levels lower than you. Basically if you are level 10 any enemy lower than your level will be raised to match your level, but they will still have the same experience and drop rewards of their original non-scaled levels.

Equipment restrictions remain the same, a level 43 piece of armor will still require you to be level 43 as you said.

Keep in mind grey quests (i.e any quest that has rewards 6 levels below your character) will still give you meagre experience rewards so in that sense, quests are not scaled and remain the same. The only thing that changes are weaker monsters. They will be level adjusted to match yours so you will always have opponents of equal footing. Stronger higher level enemies will still remain as stronger higher leveled enemies.

Can someone point me to a good build for starting a new Blood and Wine character. I haven't played in months and don't want to screw something up.

Hmm, I'm not having that specific issue with something like that, odd.

Man, I'm such a fanboy of CDPR... just seeing all this new content for Witcher 3 has me practically bouncing in my seat. I swear I'm not being hyperbolic when I say this game is one of my all time favorites.

Hahaha, man, I got it all wrong, thanks again for taking the time to explain this. So if this time I got it right, this is like a "play low level quests as if they were your level", on a level/combat/gameplay perspective only. Like if you do a HoS start to a save, you can go back and do low level quests and have its combat still challenging. It's like you said, a difficulty modifier for low level quests.

Haha, totally the contrary of what I was expecting. The setting has no purpose for what I mentioned was my situation. Good that it was included, I can absolutely see its use.

Thanks once again!

Going from drab, dreary Velen to the explosion of colour that is Toussaint made my jaw hit the floor. Absolutely gorgeous.

Played for an hour and now calling it a night. Got the day off work today, so gonna get a few hours kip and get properly stuck in. Can't wait!

-The update broke Flood of Anger: you can't cast Alt signs anymore, and perk is useless at higher levels in death march.

-Crippling shot never worked and it still doesn't.

I can respec my pure melee build and never feel bad for leaving those two perks out.

So I just hopped back into my Witcher 3 save after not having touched it since beating the original (pre-HoS). I'm showing up as level 34, almost 35. I don't remember being that level, it's possible, but I thought I was closer to 30. Blood & Wine doesn't do any adjustment to existing saves does it?

Not that I know of, low-mid 30s was pretty normal once you beat everything in the original game.
