I don't even think he needs to be as strong as Beerus to be a legitimate threat. Beerus and Whis are supposed to be impartial towards conflicts in the universe either way.

I wouldn't be surprised if goku is already close to surpassing beerus if we count KK x10 considering the way he shat himself when he saw it. Champa appeared to soil himself too when goku and hit gave him a look. I think evil goku will be stronger than the gods of destruction.

There's stuff like fusion, Genki Dama, life energy, etc, which could be used to feature an antagonist who's stronger than Beerus without necessarily making Goku stronger than him. The main issue is that if he isn't stronger than Beerus there just won't be any tension, since Toriyama has said that the gods of destruction will be involved in this arc.

Well the manga ruined any interest of the show to be honest, because getting shoddy art on top of a story you already know is just awful.

I'd say the previews at the end of the episodes are sometimes awful too and ruin some episodes, because you know what twist to expect, that doesn't fucking happen until 80% of the episode.

But titles and arc teasers, it's meant to hype people.

So it's safe to assume it's a Goku that transcends space and time.

He just decided to strike in the future.

There is no reason it can't be Future Goku, any number of things could have happened to him after he died of the heart virus to turn him into Black Goku.

Toriyama's description says, "It’s the start of a battle that surpasses time and space, and drags in the God of Destruction, Kaiōshin, even the Omni-King! Many mysteries will be revealed!"
So yeah, it's gonna be a big deal. Ultimately Goku might not be the one to beat Black Goku, or at least not alone. Hell we know now that the Dragon Balls can separate a Potara fusion, so maybe the one to beat Black Goku will be Blue Vegeto or something.

The only cool thing about raditz is his move names. Say what you want about how he's weaker than the enemies that they can grow out of the ground. But naming your moves after days of the week and events of the year is actually cool.

Weekend is a good ass name for a move.

I remember Trunks literally having no reaction to the rescue of 18. He's a smart dude but you'd think he might have some bitter misgivings. It was probably smart to just have him say nothing.
