Mirror's Edge Catalyst EA Access Trial Now Live

Playing on XB1 I swear there's actually some kind of texture streaming bug where it loads a lower quality texture but never streams in the HQ one.

Woman who speaks to you after you get out the safe house has a really soft face and neck skin texture...

Graphics looks quite rough, but it's great that it is running at 60fps. I hooe they improve the misson design and some of the combay from the beta

Curious? What kind of storage are you using? Playing right now and not seeing this game is super smooth and looks great. My games run on a USB 3.0 Raid 0 external

Xbox One version's IQ is really bad but it looks okay-ish in motion, but the PC version looks insanely better.
Just take off every AA method, leave it bare. It introduces jaggies, but it removes the blur, at least in my experience.

I'm sure I'll get hit with a flurry of salt since some seem pretty down on the game, but this really feels like the next step forward for Mirror's Edge as a franchise.

Still has the beautiful world, music, smooth running, but now with good combat (sue me, it's fun, just make sure you turn off enemy health bars and directional crosshairs) and for the first time, a story that's worth a damn. I'm pretty satisifed so far.

I haven't played the EA Access trial yet, but this was exactly my impression from the beta.

I agree having a blast and to me it looks better than the beta and I'm not seeing any texture or frame rate issues. But I have noticed with many of my games even loading and menu screens are faster on my Xbox One since I moved to my new Raid 0 external setup. I play destiny a lot and menus don't lag for me at all anymore. I'm having a blast playing this game so far.

For some reason the game has slowdown so bad that the game is pretty much unplayable and the cutscenes are unwatchable. Even the ea and dice logo at game boot is incredibly slow and laggy.

I'm not sure why this is because when I played the beta it ran without issue.

Looking at this I'm pretty excited for a hardware refresh because this shit looks ugly. These consoles are just so damn underpowered.

That not right, nothing should effect those unless your PC seriously underpowered lol
It's really not.

Screenshot? or is this gonna be a "is too, is not" thing.

Is it 1080p on PS4? If not, I might just cancel my pre-order, because that is one fugly game on Xbone. True 720p horror of the last gen.

I hated Watch Doge on 900p. It was so blurry.

Not the best looking game on PC, that's for sure. Some quick screenshots:

Settings on Ultra with maximum FOV and 1080p.

Thank you! Who knew there was more to talk about than graphics!

It is though. Here is how the game looks on Ultra. Didn't see any option to disable post process AA.

Look at the loss of detail on that dude in the second pic.

Was anyone's intro also really out of sync?

Sorry, I play at 4K where these sorts of things aren't an issue. I see what you mean though, the game does look blurry at lower resolutions.

What the hell happened with the graphics in this game? This has got to be one of the worst looking Frostbite 3 games out there.

I really hope they look into patching it because it just looks really DICE B-teamy right now. It's so disappointing.

So, you guys know this is an open world game with no loading transitions between new areas that focuses on you running through the environment as fast as possible without stopping right?

I don't think LOD streaming was a big concern considering they assume you're getting from point A to point B as quick as possible and not stopping to examine the texture work.

Based on the fact that we have never really seen in game shots of this game that looked great, I was expecting it to be that way with the retail release as well. Glad I'm using Gamefly with this one.

It was noticeable to me during standard gameplay.

oh, they took out the forced combat from the beta for the final game? great to hear!

Beta was really good on PS4, for those wondering about the quality of the game.

Also, you can actually buy and play the entire game a week early (and get %10 off), not just the demo. that's one of the benefits of EA Access.
