Have they ever offered a free game at launch in recent years? I always considered it an incentive once initial launch sales declined.Kind of disappointing that there's no free game for the 1080 :/

SpainGaf!!
otac is selling their 1080 AMP! Extreme on Coolmod, i bought one right now!
Btw this model has 2x8 pin and three fans.
They don't need to add one. The cards flew of the shelves, and the next batch coming in, even the FE's are most likely already booked. Won't see game promo until sales starts to cool off some I think.
As in, "in stock" selling? or up for pre-order?
Looks like EVGA updated their FTW dimensions. The height is 4.3in whereas before they listed as being over 5in. I was getting a bit worried that this card might be too big.
Pff, more like not big enough. Remember the Asus Mars II?
13" x 6.2" x 2.5"
It says "envio en 24/72 horas" so...in stock

With the relatively even (poor) overclocking, is anyone considering a basic low-end card to save money, on the basis they'll perform roughly the same?
I would still be skeptical about EVGA's specs.
4.3" is the same as the reference, and you can just tell the PCB is bigger than the bracket on the FTW.

ASUS Founder's Edition in stock at Newegg.
No idea why anyone would buy a Founder's Edition at this stage in the game, though.
It went up on the UK Amazon page. I'm F5'ing the US Amazon hoping it's imminent.
Wait a little. They usually add free games a month or 2 down the road.Kind of disappointing that there's no free game for the 1080 :/

GoddammitDude on reddit posted a mail from caseking.
EVGA FTW (probably all ex 17th cards) ETA has been moved to 28th... Fuck this bullshit.
Why even make reference models if you know people want custom? Why are people even buying reference models when they know the superior cards will be out eventually?

Fun fact: 1080FE is in pretty good supply here in Moscow in retail. Not many people are willing to buy it for its local price.

This is such a slimy business
So, all cards have the same dimensions again, but now smaller. SMH. I'm skeptical..to be honest.
Yeah, I think that judging from the pictures the previous measurement is correct.Looks like EVGA updated their FTW dimensions. The height is 4.3in whereas before they listed as being over 5in. I was getting a bit worried that this card might be too big.

Anyone know if the Founders Editions come with SLI bridges?
Specifically the gigabyte one

Aria.co.uk told me Nvidia are handling the initial shipments. They are doing a fine job of fucking them up.

Been thinking the same. All in all it's just a clusterfuck of a launch lol.Shit. I've been without a GPU for two weeks already.
Cons - the wait is painful
Pros - maybe the 1070 will almost be out by then and I can switch to the common sense card that I should buy
Cons - or this means 1070 will be pushed even further out
I wonder if a workable tactic would be to buy an EVGA FE and step sideways to the EVGA SC?

Asus Strix vs inno3d's fan noise level, listen to the Strix at the end. http://youtu.be/l_utspofsHI
The text states that they are ramping it to 100% ... the card would never run the fans at 100% under normal conditions. it would most likely keep the fans at 60%.
And the inno3d has to go to a higher percentage to achieve the same airflow.
So the only thing this video is showing is that the Asus card is capable of higher airflow.
The cards will probably have around the same DB rating +-1 when running an actual game
According to Computerbase, the in-game noise level on the Strix is 42.5 dB while it's only 38 dB on the iChill. Of course, the former stays at 72 degrees while the latter goes up to 81. (But 72 seems a bit overzealous)So the only thing this video is showing is that the Asus card is capable of higher airflow.

Based on my experiences with 980 Tis, the 1080s will most likely go to 100% fan speeds when overclocking and in the summer. It all depends on how they are setup in the card's BIOS. The ASUS is most likely louder in normal use too.
