The Witcher III: Blood & Wine |OT| One last contract, one last plough

fighting with higher vampires really makes the wild hunt seem weak. pretty sure regis would have tore those stupid evil elf people a new asshole by himself.

The mission where you have
both higher vampires fighting with you was insane, I just waited and watched in awe.

The visuals! *swoons*

I am currently on my third playthrough, slowlly getting to Skellige isles and enjoying all the way..
I came to post my praise for the superb voice acting this game has.

Edit: ^ There's a dog riding a horse? lol

Bosses have been fun but that 3rd boss was sure a pain in the ass
because of Palmerin's dumb AI... I had times where I had the boss down to 20% with Palmerin not even hurt, and then he goes and stands beside it while it does that AOE attack and he gets absolutely destroyed. Wasn't a hard boss but it was tricky to keep that idiot from dying hehe though when I finally did keep him alive, I do so without him even being hurt at all lol https://youtu.be/7KqAYOl708M?t=4091

I just did that (third) boss last night. Let's just say the fight was over pretty quickly, lol.

New UI is fucking horrible. I'm beyond frustrated with it to the point I quit. I'm not playing this game again until CDPR fixes it. Maybe it's not an issue on PC (although I've read that there's considerable menu lag even on that platform) but on PS4 it's worse than ever. The menu is complete shit in every way- 3-4 seconds to switch between tabs, tons of lag and lack of response while viewing items, and the the sort function doesn't even fucking work. Like you literally sort -> price and the result is a random clusterfuck of items that makes it a complete chore to find what you want to sell, and the "star" indicating you have new items is useless because they are randomly scattered through your laggy-ass inventory, and with the new pop up box blocking your view, it's a big pain in the ass to find anything anyway.

After a year on the market and 15 or so patches, I can't believe it's at it's worst now. Maybe I'm just picky, but it's unplayable for me due to the fact that it makes me angry instead of giving me enjoyment. Perhaps CDPR thought they were doing the community a favor with this, but clearly they didn't have it tested beyond their studio.

Am I insane or does anyone else feel the same way?

Although I agree the delay is annoying, most people feel the new UI is a positive change.

My only complaints are the million of bugs that have been added like the floating body parts and camps so populated the PS4 can't handle it and just crashes. But they aren't enough to rob my enjoyment of this amazing game and expansion.

To people who have completed BW and HoS;

Does it make sense to play the expansion areas after the main quest (for chronologically make the narrative best?)

Are there any Ekimmaras in Blood and Wine, or can we at least buy their hides?
I'd really like to be able to finally complete my oil collection.

I just realized you can put sockets on special weapons like
Aerondight
. Time to spend like 10k gold and slap a severance runeword on this.

Anyone using a ds4windows setup for instant sign casting?

The profile I used for the vanilla game+HoS doesnt seem to be fully working anymore. The touchpad swipes for ui stuff still works fine but the R2+face buttons to cast base signs and R2+HOLD face button to cast secondary are not.

My Inputmapper profile still works. Haven't been keeping track of DS4Windows profiles, but if you want to try inputmapper, use the profile in this mod and then edit accordingly.

Crafted all of the Grandmaster armour and weapons, have them proudly on display at Corvo Bianco. Is there no Viper School variant of it? I'm so lost in this, I can easily see myself putting 50 hours into it. You can tell CDPR decided to have a lot of fun with some of the dialogue and references too, I assume the 'Golden Stick of Joy' you can display at home is meant to represent them winning GOTY at the Golden Joysticks.

Anyone know what the cooking recipes you find from the Spoon Key quest can be used for?

Love this track.

^ how dare you kill that dwarf 87 times in a row with bees

Not trying to sound like 'one of those people' but I'm surprised at the amount of people that actually noticed or even used lock on for any of the game.

In most cases it only makes the game harder (but not in a good way)

Must admit the slow response time of the UI is a strong negative on an amazing game. I don't think it was the redesign though as it was going pretty slow before. Maybe it's just an end game problem with having too many items at once on your person?

Is the story mysterious or not? The marketing made it seem like a dark secret would unfold. Really curious but the comments seem to be that the story isn't that focused nor as meaty as the HoS story.

Based on what i've experienced in about an hour and a half of the main story is that it's decent. However, I don't like it as much as the main campaign or HoS.

Yeah, I've never used lock on.

Got my first B&W quest bug. Nothing too major but still irritating. Geralt's villa
apparently has a certain "hidden" room behind a destructible wall in the cellar that the Majordomo informs you about, but in my game, the shelf blocking the destructible wall has not been moved despite the quest telling me to go there and check the room out

Have you upgraded the vineyard yet?

Is there a way to revert to the old control scheme for the sign wheel? You used to scroll with the right stick, now it's the left stick. It's a minor thing, but I was trying to equip stuff and nothing was registering, and then I randomly started throwing the wrong grenade because I thought I was still perusing the wheel. It seems completely unnecessary to change how that functions after getting used to it for a solid year.

Fuck this game okay? I just fought
Caretaker
on Deathmarch and beat him on the first try without wasting resources, and then the game FUCKING freezes during the cutscene; it didn't fucking autosave after the end of the boss fight.

WHY THE FUCKING FUCK YOU WOULDN'T PROGRAM THE GAME TO SAVE AFTER A MAJOR FUCKING BOSS BATTLE.

I've sunk in 240 hours and I am ready to delete this fucking turd now. I had nothing but issues every time they release a major update.

OK you can voice your opinion without going full on destructo rant man.

Is there something else, apart from the vineyard upgrades, one needs to do to get people to visit? Is it something that's only available after a certain point in the main quest?

LOL. Same here, dude. Screw your potentially important matters which requires Geralt's assistance, NPCs. Gwent first, talky after.

Still wrecking everyone in Toussaint with my Northern Realm deck. Don't fuck with King Foltest's crew...lol
Managed to score 239 in a round today with my Northern Realms against Nilfgaard. Spies everywhere.

Love the look people give when you ask them if they play Gwent. Their face says "fuck yes, I play Gwent, let's go!"

Cerys' card is amazing, can be worth like 46 points. The Queen stay The Queen.

To be fair, the menu lag has pervaded the game since launch. Does at times feel slightly worse now, but hard to gauge as it was pretty bad before.

I do find the floating tooltip a real annoyance as well(makes picking through a massive tiledump in your bags a claustrophobic experience as it gets in the way moreso than it helps compared to before).

Otherwise, there are so many improvements that its hard to really be that upset. Better organized, many great new features I wish I had during vanilla. Hell, you can now click R3 to read books and notes you just picked up without scavenging for them in that shoddy inventory menu! Newcomers have no idea the frustration that was with before...so many little touches like these all over. I dig it, but it still has room for improvement sure.

Reposting my question about a possibly bugged quest/POI (PS4):
I think I have found one bugged sidequest very early in the new area - since there are no walkthroughs yet, I don't know if it's an actual bug or if I'm just missing something.

It's a quest which starts by killing bandits (I think it's a "hidden treasure" point of interest). You are supposed to get into a gardener's workshop and one of the enemies drops a key and a letter/document. There are 2 doors in the area, but both give me the "it's closed" message - I tried looking around for a secret entrance but haven't found anything.

Am I missing a secret entrance or should the key be working on one of the doors?
The quest in question should something with a "gardener" (Unfaithful Gardener would be a direct translation from Polish).

motherfuckas patched the bee trick so that the bees will distinctly attack you and leave the nest so you cant get close enough to AARD it. bastards. Always die now trying to move it.

this has not been my experience.. switching tabs is almost instant for me.. I'm on ps4

I'm surprised people find the menus slower. They are definitely improved for me on ps4. Pretty much everything is greatly improved. Lots of quality of life stuff.

Sorry if it's already answered, or this isn't the place, but has anybody gotten PhotoMode2inOne to work with the expansion? I can get a free camera, but I can't pause the game or change weather, etc.

PC users have never experienced any slow menu issues up until this UI upgrade, so that's probably some of the complaints. This might have to do with how much stuff you have as well, but it wasn't ever an issue previously.
The console users have always had slower UI issues, so it actually might be improved for them.
