Huh, just noticed that the substance Future Bulma's experimenting with looks like the same stuff main timeline Bulma was experimenting with an episode or two ago. Wonder if there's anything to that.

First off today's episode, I wasn't expecting a fight that good! The art was a bit all over the place but the fight definitely made the episode a joy to watch and it was MASSIVELY better than last week. Blue Goku in the BoG Gi looks pretty good when his aura is up, not really feelin it when it's down though.
The fact that they cut to Trunks's future before the ending was awesome and holy shit I'm hyped!
Definitely looks like Black is tall monster lookin dude, so maybe Goku Black is actually our Goku.
Pretty bumbed that the NEP showed Goku in his BoG gi though.

This is seriously the most hype I've been for anything Dragonball related since the Androids/Cell Saga. I feel like I'm in middle school again.

Yea you're right it doesn't. Maybe it's how everyone envisions the villain looking while trunks describes what happened in his future until he tells them that it's Goku.We have to wait and see, but this certainly doesn't look like Goku.
Previews are known for being very misleading, so what we seeing can easily turn out to be an overdone flashback or a nightmare, since they may be hiding how Black Goku looks in motion. That or Black Goku can have some help and that is who Trunks is fighting in the preview.
For example, in the preview for the Goku vs. Botoma match, the preview was cut in a way that looks like Goku went Super Saiyan against Botoma. Another one is the Vegeta vs. Frost match were the preview made it seems like the entire episode will be Vegeta fighting Frost.

I think this is why the boys haven't grown up yet. They'll get a growth spurt after this arc when trunks returns to his future.
I think that theory was gone the moment we saw Black Goku in the future with Trunks and Mai in the poster.
I also don't see how this is like Baby outside some possession maybe taking place. Baby wanted revenge against the Saiyans and took over the entire Earth. Black Goku seems to want to burn everything.

I wonder if they'll touch on the future timeline's versions of Beerus/Whis and whatnot...
Didn't Whis jokingly say he was trying to replace Beerus by training Goku at one point? What if this timeline's Whis actually did do something like that and Goku Black is their god of destruction? I don't give much weight to this idea, but it doesn't seem impossible

Has it been asked yet, how Trunks is able to go to the "past" even though the timeline is sufficiently diverged? I know silly cartoony logic is at play, but really he is crossing timelines at this point.

I mean, he already did it once in the Android arc. No, it doesn't make much sense. Maybe when you time travel once you lock that time machine to a particular timeline? Maybe there's actually another timeline where Trunks never came back because he created another one by travelling back a second time?
I like how that awful taste of those past episodes has entirely vanished with literally 20 seconds of content.

Do I really need to spoiler? Calling different Future Trunks based off the current events...explaining Mia being so young. So it's Future Trunks, but not that Future Trunks. Goku "went" black and rocks everyone...including Uub etc.
