Soooo I know everyone's talking about the two seconds of Future Trunks

but this week's episode... confirmed that Base Vegeta > SSJ3 Gotenks? Yikes, last week I just assumed the copy innately had Vegeta's Super Saiyan Blue power due to how effortlessly he took care of Gotenks but I guess not.

Didn't they mentioned something about they don't have to transform to increase their strength?

Clearly someone at Toei /Toriyama hates fusion, SSJ3, and/or Gotenks.
To be fair do these kids even train anymore?

I mean, they're at God level now.

You saw what Beerus did to a fully powered up SSJ3 Goku - with a flick of his finger - right?

Vegeta got God ki... somehow... so yes, he'd >>> SSJ3 Gotenks

That should have been obvious ever since Goku absorbed the god powers during the Beerus battle. A SSJ3 was defeated by a flinger flick and tap, and yet a SSJ1 managed to keep up with the amount of power he was using there and in base form Goku stopped his final attack. Vegeta training with Whis obtained a similar power.

What are the current rules of Shenron and Portuga? Can Vegeta still be revived if he died from vanishing in the latest episode? Think he already died and revived twice, by two different dragons? I can't even remember anymore. It's one of the things I didn't really like about Dragon Ball series, deaths can sometimes have no consequences, just collect the balls, bam now you're alive again. Just takes away the risk of actually dying for good.

Hey, Vegetas gonna die in 3 minutes, better waste a few minutes in base form and dick around

Vegetas face on learning what a pacifier was was funny though.

I guess I never made the jump that base Goku/Vegeta = SSG Goku/Vegeta but I guess it makes sense with the SUPER SAIYAN WITH THE POWER OF A SUPER SAIYAN GOD line they're always saying about Blue.

But god damn.

... Or wait, so what the hell did that make SSJ1 Goku/Vegeta during those tournament matches then?! They just... turned off their god ki and then went Super Saiyan?!

Kinda annoyed how super saiyan blue is basically a form that makes them... punch a bit harder.

Literally.

Like it's completely worthless, from a creative standpoint.

I don't think they ever established a limit to the number one times that one can be brought back by Porunga, if they also added resurrection limit to it then most characters could be in a complicated situation, but, as things stand, Porunga gives basically free resurrections since there's no limit and they extended his ability to resurrect more than one person per wish in the ending of the Buu Saga.

I guess at the time it wasn't a problem since the series was about to end, but they really should think about doing something regarding Porunga now.

Goku also used a boosted SSJ against Beerus though, without going Blue. Base and SSJ seem to be just standard ki (It was stated that Goku made the SSJGod power his own, and people were able to sense him after the time limit of SSJGod ended, even though he was basically just as strong as before), while SSJB uses actual God Ki again to boost them even further (The other characters suddenly weren't able to sense Goku when he went SSJB against Freeza in Super).

It's probably that the power scaling got retarded a long time ago. Like, the Goku-Bills fight was already threatening to destroy the universe with just a punch, now they can't run a whole series like that, so now, yeah, as you say, fighting in blue just looks like fighting as a plain ass old SS. With less mobility apparently, all the fights seem to devolve into pushing matches or "i'm going to punch your fist" rather using 3D space in the fight choreography.

Looks like the show will be getting a bit darker next week? Gooood. I completely forgot Future Trunks was going to show up this episode so at the end I was like GIT HYPE!

Yeah, I was reading the latest Hunter x Hunter manga chapters, the fight between high level characters (
Chrollo and Hisoka)
still retain the strategic values while actually exhibiting how crazy powerful the skills used, and the different things they could do.

I see Goku fight fake Vegeta just throwing punches and kicks, yawnzzz. The most Goku did is spam instant transmission, wow how creative Toriyama...

Togashi has always done pretty well with that stuff though. Just look at the dark tournament arc in YYH.

Dragon Ball Super |OT3| Newer Content, Old Future, Same Trunks
Dragon Ball Super |OT3| Goku Black (Japanese: ゴクウブラック, Hepburn: Gokū Burakku)
Dragon Ball Super |OT3| It's the same Future Trunks, stop asking
Dragon Ball Super |OT3| Staff Officer Goku Black

Black From the Future is good too.

[OT3] Once you go black...
[OT3] Once Goku's black...
[OT3] Once ku go black... Trunks never goes back.

Enjoyed today's episode, I feel like the water could have been more of a threat than it was, of course Monaka would finish it off.

Can't wait for next week.

I like this...

This arc seems to be a big shift from what they've been doing so it's not unreasonable to think everyone will be playing a part.

We will see. To me, it feels like another Android saga.

OH FUCK SOMETHING IS GOING ON IN TRUNK'S TIMELINE AGAIN BETTER GO WARN THE OTHERS BUT THIS TIME MAYBE CONSEQUENCES?

At least there's a big difference in the supposed enemy, although Black Goku isn't really stimulating my excitement.

But, I am being overly harsh since this show has let me down on a consistent basis. Let's see if it'll work out this time.

Supposedly this arc was pushed into being because Toriyama was ready to drop the Super project. Don't know how true this is, but the person saying it had been reliable in the past from what people are saying... and so Toei drew up some ideas for Toriyama to run with.

And yeah it does seem a lot like the Android saga but that's also the saga we had the biggest main cast contribution in some time.
