If there's going to be a time skip, it will most certainly occur much later in the upcoming arc. At least in the preview, Goten was still a child.

I don't think there's going to be a time skip for this arc. In the preview we saw Goten being the same size as before. /:

Not as eagle-eyed as some here, apparently. I do hope we get one soon though, it's becoming hard to swallow that Trunks and Goten look the same as the Buu saga when they were 8 and 7 respectively.

The Trunks on the right is likely how he looks after coming to the past and getting fixed up.

I think right is how he'll look after getting to the present and recovering for a bit, unless Black immediately follows him somehow.

This is why Trunks has blue hair now, Toriyama's always given Trunks and Bulma the same hair color and now that Bulma's hair is blue so is Trunks's.

I think it would have been better if they also made Kid Trunks' hair blue. I wouldn't even have minded that. It's just weird when we have two Trunks' with different hair color. Or even better, they should've made Bulma's hair purple and kept Future Trunks the same.

To be fair we didn't see kid Trunks in the NEP, maybe they did change his hair color.

I'm wondering if this Future Trunks is from a different timeline, like it's the current Super timeline but in the future. We see Mai all grown up... again, whom wasn't even a thing in the old continuity.

So that could mean that could be the Trunks that didn't initially go back to give Goku the heart virus medicine and warn them about the Androids.

Or I'll just stick to the idea that it's Toriyama and he just doesn't care too much... might as well rewrite end of Z while he's at it.

We're not privvy to Future Trunks' entire life. He could've been friends with Mai this entire time, or he could've met her shortly after coming back from the past.

runks takes a "one way trip" to main universe due to lack of fuel, saga occurs in present Universe 7/maybe some of universe 6, and then present bulma finishes her own time machine to send Trunks back at the end of the arc.

Yeah I remember that quote. There's also a Kanzenban called Dragon Ball Forever that says they got together, but that was published in 2004 and the above quote is from 2013 so I guess it's no longer relevant, heh.

Well one of the producers said the tone was different from Super up to this point and they even went through the trouble of making a new Next Episode Preview song that isn't happy. All of the descriptions of the arc have sounded pretty serious as well.
