Watched the Jay vid and I have a question regarding the silicon lottery. Will cards, such as the MSI Gaming X, mostly fall within a certain limit because they will put the chips that "won" the lottery in a more expensive cooler?
So for example, MSI tests a chip and it looks to overclock well, so they will put that card in the Gaming Z design pile. They test another chip and it performs at average so they will put it in the X design pile, and so on and so forth. Thus, you have no chance of getting a highly overclockable Gaming X card because MSI has already filtered out the chips that "won" the lottery and these lucky winners are reserved for higher priced card design?
