Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 reviews and benchmarks

The MSI Gaming X I ordered this morning shipped from Newegg, scheduled for delivery tomorrow by end of day. Better than I expected for having selected the standard free shipping, but I guess the fact that the origin location is less than 2 hours away helps.

Looking forward to diving into Blood & Wine once it arrives.

Same here. And the funny thing is I ordered it earlier, got to the packaging process, and then got cancelled. Like an hour later it was up again, I ordered, and now it's shipping.

my gigabyte g1 is in, got a good price on the titan so barely cost me any extra money, it's not much of an upgrade in terms of performance although it is noticeable, main reason i got it though is the noise and heat, this is very quiet in my case, overwatch@1080p@153fps@55 c (13-15c cooler than before), temps are worth it alone and this room is now much cooler, not overclocked it but seems to reliably boost to 1974mhz out the box, seen 2000mhz briefly

Not that you need the frames that high but that seems low for a gtx 1080 no?

Delivery confirmation! Can't wait to get home and fire this thing up.

Finally got to test overclocking my 1080 FE.

I was able to hit 2100Mhz and got 24949 graphics score in Fire Strike.

I'm backing out to stock settings for now as that is enough for 1440/60. I need to save up for an X34P when it releases somehow.

Tempted to just order the next card that shows in stock from Newegg instead of waiting for Amazon to put cards up :(

Exactly why I ended up getting the MSI card earlier today. And now it's already been packaged and dropped off with FedEx.

Actually glad I pulled the trigger on it when I originally intended on getting the 1070. I just got a new 1440p 144hz G-Sync monitor and Id probably have been disappointed.

Ouch, cancelled during packaging is painful, glad to hear you wound up getting a successful order through afterward.

This launch has been a PITA in general.

I've been using my 670 on my 1440p 144hz G-Sync monitor for 6 months now.

What's a few more days/weeks...

Maybe I can reroute my card and let you borrow it :D

I had a 780 a while back then actually sold it and went back to my 560ti because I was mostly playing stuff on the new consoles. I can't even do 1440p yet lol.

What non-Founders editions 1080s are out for me to get today? I was hoping for evga or zotac amp ultimate or whatever its called.

Nah I'm good. Dota 2 at max settings runs at 120fps (can't do 144hz with the older Display Port cards)

Why?

(It's out of stock everywhere else and I want it now)

Digital river is a sales merchant so terrible people actively avoid direct purchases from companies that do business with them. They're famous for the worst customer support on the planet, terrible shipping times, lost & damaged packages, and telling you that you're shit out of luck when they fuck something up.

^^ sums up Digital River perfectly

G1 Buyers: Can you change the color of the lighting on the spine of the card?

yes...you use the Gigabyte Xtreme Engine (their version of PrecisionX, Afterburner, etc) to adjust the lighting on that part...also it's where you adjust your stuff for OC

I'm curious to see how the people in here who bought it say it performs...I'm actually considering just holding off on a 1070 and picking one of these up once they are easier to get

Sent a tweet to NCIX earlier to ask if they had an eta for the EVGA cards. They asked me to give them my order number to get an ETA. Did that 7.5h ago and still waiting

After doing a custom fan curve and seeing how low the temp stays on my FE I think I might overclock it a bit.

It seems the FE can go as high as most of the AIB cards. I have a slight OC with +55 on core and +253 on memory. I havent even tried going higher, but the temps stay in mid 70's during heaven benchmark so Im sure I could push a good deal higher but Im SLI so dont want to go crazy.

Started playing The Witcher 3 and I haven't seen the temp go above 70 C. Hit 1949 MHz boost out of the box with power limit raised. Rarely dips below 60 at 3440x1440 (hairworks off).

Card is much quieter than my old 980 Ti ACX SC. I barely hear it over my case fans (Corsair SP120 quiet edition).

It popped up on Newegg minutes ago apparently. People managed to order it through sheer luck as NowInStock didn't trigger. I'm guessing stocks are starting to arrive

I hope my preorder from Amazon is coming next week. Preorder it on the 31st of last month. :(

sounds good...and the reviews on Newegg are positive too

Anyone happen to know what the warranty is from Gigabyte on this card? (How long it lasts)

I remember the nightmare I had with them and Ni No Kuni special edition. SMH...

The NVIDIA Adaptive V-Sync is still on the 10 Series right?

The GeForce site doesn't list those cards as having it but the online manual for the 1080 does so just trying to double check.

(honestly can't believe I'm actually this close to buying a 1080...lol...still gonna give it some time though)

Gsync? Yes.

It also has Fast Sync, a new kind of adaptive sync for monitors without Gsync :P

Can you guys share your fan curves? I'm going SLI in SFF, so no space inbetween cards.

I only have one card in right now, second card comes in next week. I currently have it at for a single card:

0 to 50C: 30% Fan Speed
70C: 60% Fan Speed
80 to 100C: 70% Fan Speed

I'm sorry if I missed this thread, but can someone please help me find out an actual, hard date for when I can expect to be able to buy a proper GTX 1080? As in a non-Founders, non-scalping price, non-inflated one in the $650-$700 range?

there is no hard date yet...there have been some released sporadically on the various sites...you can check NowInStock to see the list and when each are in stock/on pre-order

so far the only non-FE that's not in that $650-$700 range is the MSI Gaming X...the rest have been in the $620-$680 range

Plenty of people already have.
