My G1 1080 just turned up in a massive box. How am I supposed to sneak it into the house surreptitiously in such a big box?
Anyway, that's tomorrow morning sorted.
OK that's good to know, thanks. I'm using four fans. Two drawing air in the front, one drawing out the back, and one drawing out the top. I have space for one more out of the top. I have a P400, so maybe my case is too small in general... My motherboard temp is 43 during gameplay, PCH 53
Would getting an all-in-one water cooling for my cpu help? Something like what Corsair offers in the hydro series? I'm even considering an HG10 when they offer it for the 1080. Not sure what else to do.
What was the graphics score?
I have a huge 230mm front intake fan and a single 140mm exhaust fan at the back. Wonder if I should get another fan for a top exhaust. What's a good way to stress test the whole system so I can monitor temps?
I'd be interested to see what your temps are like after a 1-2 hour gaming session. I've managed to OC to the point that I am getting 1987MHz stable in Doom with temps between 74-76. My max stable OC puts my temps over 80 during a long gaming session.
If you haven't played Doom yet......it's incredible.

Are those temps with a G1?
Yeah, settings > monitoring > hardware monitor logging properties (roughly translated) should allow this. Can't play until tomorrow probably now but doom was the last thing I was playing a few weeks ago, until I sold my 970
I was getting 1984 clocks just running the benchmarks out of the box - no overclocking done. Will see how it does after a longer gaming session.
Is there a way to get afterburner (or something else) to log temps/clocks etc to a file?
EVGA SC
I got a 24000 graphics score in Firestrike. Average 2050-2088mhz through the whole thing and a few scenes were 2126. I just don't like having the temps in the low 80s in long game sessions.
This seems to be the only reasonably priced card in Canada:

$830 for a custom GTX 1080 seems a lot more reasonable than $650 for a custom GTX 1070.
Hmmmm that's disappointing! I'll either have the ACX 3 vanilla or FTW by the end of next week, I thought it would be cooler than that! What percentage are your fans running at?

When I'm in Doom, the temps get near 80, they're at about 80%. With stock clocks, I run at about 1925 and about 70C
Wow, the SC version is 50 bucks more. I got fucked over

How do the fans sound at 80%?
I'm not real sensitive to it, but I'd say half of what was coming out of my HP w/ 980ti reference.
First(?) 1080 FTW review sample spotted I guess

Glad to hear that, since I just ordered an ACX 3.0yeah...honestly I don't see the reason for buying an SC card (other than the box being different and it having that little SC part on the card)
the boards are the same between it and the plain ACX 3.0...the lights are the same (both white)...you're just paying $30 extra for a slight OC that you can do yourself on the plain version
Hmmm yeah, the MSI Gaming X 1080 seems to be the only one with vertical heatpipes. Too bad it's so expensive. Hopefully NCIX gets better pricing.
No im pretty sure the msi is at 108% too since i remember Jayztwocents complaining that he couldnt raise it like the FE.
Has the ACX 3.0 even been on sale at Amazon? There doesn't seem to be a history on nowinstock, though it's apparently priced at $619.
Could it be that way because it's going 108% from an already factory boosted speed?
admittedly I have no idea how it's supposed to work so I'm just throwing out an idea

The base amount of power supplied is different. One of the more interesting differences in these AIB cards. Actual power limit on the the MSI is much higher than the FE, even though the sliders look the same.
I saw a review which showed this a few days ago but now I can't find it to save my life. My Google Fu is failing me.
I was getting driver resets on Heaven with +150, had to back it down to +120 to make it not do that. Holding a mostly steady 2050, I'm seeing a second of two of 2038 and 2025 every now and then.
Will I be able to run a Samsung 4k monitor, Samsung 1440p monitor and Htc vive on the Asus Strix 1080?
I'm interested to see what your temps are after a long gaming session. Doom or something similar.
Has anybody heard any rumblings about when we might expect the Ti or next titan variant?
After an hour of 3DMark Fire Strike Ultra (Test 1):
Temp 66C
Fan Speed 47% (1985 rpm)
Core 1911-1987 (+120)
Memory 5594 (+590)
3DMark is definitely power hungry, hitting the brick wall which is the power limit. I wonder what kind of clocks I could sustain once modded VBIOS comes out, as GPU voltage was only around 0.943 to 0.981, there was a lot of headroom there but power limit says nope.
I am wondering if Firestrike just isn't as demanding as certain games. My details and temps in Firestrike are similar. It's Doom that wrecks my temps. After more than 20-30 minutes of play.
Thanks for posting that.
