A lot of the eyewitness reports will be filled with conjecture due to distraught and traumatized people. It's understandable.

Europe has had two major terrorist attacks in 6 months and a porous border that brings weapons from the east. While the US has the Mexican border. Better gun laws would be nice but let's be realistic, it won't end gun violence.

Some folks will happily dismiss any change and/or reinforce the status quo because nobody's bringing up a "make all gun crime go away" magic button. It's a terrible argument.
It's like arguing against cutting back on carbon emissions because one person won't magically make global warming go away.
We even have the whole "humans were once barbaric warmongers hundreds of years ago so things are clearly much better now and today is awesome" dogma being spewed. Great way to dismiss addressing anything.
