You can't compare drugs to guns, it's infinitely easier to transport/grow a drug locally than to deliver/build a gun locally. It's illegal to own a fully-automatic assault rifle and you don't hear about people going on fully-auto AK-47 rampages throughout North America for a reason. When it comes to contraband, you can't hide a gun in a pillow/undercarriage of a car/ etc. like you can a bag of weed or coke or whatever.

edit: You can own a fully auto. I thought every state banned it, but it was just mine.

Yeah. And i'm pretty sure the balance shifts to the "not positive" part. Religion fanatism is as much a cancer as guns are.

As a Christian I am right there with you. At mass this morning I cried for the victims while praying. I wish there wasn't a growing hate for religions but that seems to be what is happening.

Trust me I have had my fair share of intense discussion about interpretations of the Holy Quran. In the end of it all, we end up respecting each others opinion and don't push our own religion on each other.

If you had a bad experience talking or discussing religion... I am sorry, but I know everyone is not the same.

what? it takes no effort at all to conceal and transport a firearm.

Go try and copy some money using your copy machine. If it's a modern one you won't be able to do it. There are things we can do to stop people from 3D printing guns, making it so they can't print certain things.

American Christian Fundamentalists have been pushing anti-gay laws in South America and Africa. Uganda almost codified the death penalty for homosexuals a few years back.

Magical thinking mixed with human tribalism in economically depressed areas is a very bad recipe.

Islam is a bigger problem atm, but fundematalism and a push back on modernity as a whole is also the issue. Christians just got done with their crusades and purges a few hundred years ago. Muslims are in the midst of theirs after centuries of empire and colonialism rule post Persia/Turkish Empire.

Do you think all christians hate LGBT? Do you think all christians vote against gay rights? What are your assumptions about religion when christians cite passages in their bibles to excuse their actions and bigotry? Most importantly, if you are religious what are those against such bigotry and yourself going to do about it in your communities?

I feel a crushing weight on my chest because of how hopeless a situation we have here in the US concerning gun control. We're never going to get anything done, all we have here is hate, obstruction, and ignorance.
