Nintendo @ E3 - No Direct, Just Zelda Treehouse Stream

Really hope this deviates quite a bit from previous 3d zelda's like they said it would as 3d zelda is my least favourite zelda.
Something more open akin to the first game but in 3D could be awesome.

Lore wise I'd like to have it take place after Zelda 2.

I'm hoping for some more SNES titles for 3DS, Final Fantasy IV and VI, Chrono Trigger, S.Mario RPG, you know anything SE.

Don't worry, I expect nothing

Can't wait for this...

...oh, and Skittzo0413 m8. Don't bother, you're just wasting your time.

I analyze and deconstruct arguments for a living, gotta keep my skills sharp somehow!

Edit:
Something like:
The Tome of ___
or
The Book of ___

Based on what Link is carrying (might not be a book though).

The Timeshift Tome has a nice ring to it, right? Too much time travel in Zelda games though...

That Zelda picture (It's on Amazon)

How is Amiibo Festival a dumbing down of Animal Crossing. It's a spinoff. It's like saying Mario Party 10 is a dumbing down of 3D World. Also how can that be seen as an action to appeal to casuals when the series itself already is one that appeals to casuals? At least have a bit of logic in your moaning.

The new gimmick for Zelda U is the ability to Jump freely.

Zelda always has amazing Art

Edit: What if the Tunic changes color on its own with that magical book?

I'm not sure it's a book. Same shape but not the same thing from what I see of it. First it looks like solid stone. Plus there is a gap in the middle of the bottom edge and the bottom left corner has two lighter color parts and looks detachable or intractable. Then again wiuth the whole technology angle it could be holographic in nature, so it could still actually be a book of sorts.

I have a feeling that will be our companion/major tool for the game, which would be weird since Fi was computer program-y for whatever reason. But maybe we'll luck out and it'll be more like a King of Red Lions situation where it's the soul of some ancient dude inside of it and not some cold robotic program.

I always wanted it to be The Legend of Zelda:Hyrule Destruction or The Legend of Zelda:HD for short. Dunno how they'd make that work though.

With heavy competition I'm not sure Nintendo will survive.
It's going to be the repeat of the Wii U.
No Direct and just Zelda Wii U. I can get my Zelda fix with a more mature title like Dark Souls 3, just replay that and wait for DLC expansions.

PS4 is going to have PS VR and Microsoft with their Oculus Rift.
I'm looking forward towards Recore personally.
But man is Nintendo digging a hole for themselves with little to no announcements.

By the time they announce NX it won't garner the largest advertisement that is already at the Expo.

Direct may have been a great idea as most people view E3 online anyway, and it prevents on stage mishaps which made sense but missing e3 and just having Zelda Wii U, man this is a drag.

These are very strange and confusing posts...

That's because you view them at face value.

Arguing against the specific points made is pointless, they find something new to say or move the goalposts. They're simply not interested in Nintendo's output for whatever reason and so they try to explain and rationalize it somehow.

Um, I am interested in Nintendo's output or I wouldn't be buying Zelda U or buying an NX. Apparently if I criticise Nintendo that means I'm not a fan?

Then why exactly do you keep using the word arrogant to describe a company whose former CEO apologized for their poor showing not even a year ago? Isn't apologetic sorta the antithesis of arrogance?

Also keep in mind all 4 games on your list were planned and being developed prior to said apology.

This is exactly what I mean, you always find something to say that goes against the spirit of my post.

Yep. Nintendo are anything but arrogant.

I've seen this used a lot lately. People have been calling Nintendo arrogant simply because they're not making the games that that person wants. Apparently that's arrogance now.

And the irony is that those complaints are the textbook definition of arrogance! "If they don't make this type of game that I personally want them to then they're incredibly stupid and out of touch and doomed!" Sure, you know how to run a multi billion dollar company better than those with experience there, that's humble and modest, sure!

And don't get me wrong, Nintendo makes plenty of mistakes and strange decisions but at least use the right words to describe them, okay people?

I prefer the descriptor "sometimes misguided" when describing some of Nintendo's decisions. amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis for example. Though amiibo Festival was actually a bit fun when I played it. I imagine with 4 of you and some alcohol involved, it'd be a right laugh

Because you actually have to be drunk to enjoy that game.

I don't agree with your term "sometimes misguided", because Nintendo have professional analysts and business men to do that job for them: to guide them.

You say, Amiibo Festival is a bit fun, and could be a right laugh. Is that really good enough, though? I don't think it is.

You do realise that no company is infallible right? Just 8 years ago we were mocking Sony for their misguided business decisions. 3 years ago we were mocking Microsoft for them. They too had analysts that did a job for them: they guided them.

Just because you don't like some of the games they have put out or are going to put out (Metroid Prime Federation Force looks like fun) doesn't mean they're misguided. Hell, ast time you brought up the arrogance card, I showed you their sales and their games do sell and are often highly well critically regarded. Look at Kirby Planet Robobot. Fantastic game, will sell a decent amount. Is that them screwing up? No.

Remember, your opinion, while valid, is not the be-all and end-all of the gaming world. They're not arrogant for not conforming to your idea of all games needing to be like Fallout 4.
