Yeah, the international videos are pretty shitty.

I still don't know what the Zygarde push is for at this point.
I know we might get more at E3, but the fact we only got two Pokemon this issue sort of makes me wonder if we're looking at another tiny Generation.
Like the issue for Generation V around this time had, like, 10 or so Pokemon in it I think? There was one with Minccino, Pidove, Sandile, Klink, Darmanitan, and Blitzle and then shortly after we got a trailer on Pokemon Sunday showing like five more or so.
Though I don't think a small Generation is necessarily a bad thing, though I hope it's slightly bigger than Generation VI. I don't need 150, but can we get 100 at the very least?

You're reading way too much into this. The speed of information revealed implies nothing at all
Could just as easily be because of E3 revealing more
...Or they're changing up their strategy because they got burnt by revealing too much in the run up to X and Y and ORAS. It's worth bearing in mind that we're still further out from Sun and Moon than we were for Black and White at this point- Sun and Moon are releasing in November, whereas Black and White came out in September.I know we might get more at E3, but the fact we only got two Pokemon this issue sort of makes me wonder if we're looking at another tiny Generation.

Also, might be wise to wait until we've had the E3 footage and info- remember Black and White made no appearance at E3 2010.

I suggest checking out Yokai Watch 2's battle theme, it's absurdly good.

One cool detail is that the very beginning of the song loops during the beginning of the battle when your prepping until you start the fight.
We got a "small" amount of new pokemon in gen6 because a lot of work was put into creating and animating more than 600 pokémon, that was very time consuming. This time around all that time and effort can be invested into more new pokémon and improving the game a lot.
Before Black and White, any given hardware generation would see only around 100+ new Pokemon. I think that the smaller number of Pokemon in X/Y is just Game Freak slowing things the fuck down and keeping the overall Pokemon count from becoming too bloated to bear, because they were cognizant from the beginning that there'd be two gens on 3DS hardware this time around. And so Sun and Moon will probably also have around 70 new mons, that's about what I'm expecting anyway. And I'm fine with that as long as there's also shitloads of Pokemon available for capture in general, like in X/Y.
I'm also on the side who thinks sun and Moon will probably be the most content packed and meticulously designed game so far. Especially if Morimoto is director
Sounds like generic cartoon music
New generations are always directed by Masuda, this one is no exception.

That doesn't mean it's exactly set in stone. Morimoto wasn't credited at all in or ORAS (as well as Tembo), which was the first main game he was missing from. That doesn't make a lot sense unless he was working on something big. Up until now, he's only directed remakes.
Masuda has also been abroad a lot in the last few months, which you wouldn't expect someone to do until at least from E3 onwards.
Saying that, Masuda also hasn't directed in a while either, although he's also a producer. I'm fine either way as long as the game is good.
Edit: Looks like Ohmori will be at E3 as well

There was also the guy who directed Platinum, but he's never directed since.

My dream scenario is Morimoto doing Sun/Moon and Unno doing Sun 2/Moon 2 all for Masuda to be very hard at work ensuring that nx Pokemon is the glorious HD experience we all need it to be....damnit Masuda don't fail me!
Honestly I really hope that Game Freak doesn't waste gen 7 to tell Zygarde's story when it should have been told in gen 6 with gen 7 being a fresh start.
Because Pokémon company international is shit.
I am just wondering if Game Freak will even do a "Sun 2/Moon 2" version since they were clearly happy in skipping "Pokémon Z".

I only see Masuda as the director for Platinum.
And Morimoto, aside from directing Emerald and HGSS, is probably working hard as the battle director again, since this is the start of a new gen (and a new competitive season).
Well we don't know when "Mobile NX" is happening and this is somewhat similar to the pattern of what happened with Gen V.
Also something to note is that Alola is only half of Hawaii since four islands are not present, something that could be expanded on similar to Unova's expansion in B2W2.
What if it's tied into a larger story that's spans more than one generation? There are some theories out there that if they were even close to being what the game's story is about (or at least part of it), then it would be worth it to have Zygarde's story finished up.
I really want the mom to be Shauna just for the reactions.
Not necessary since they could do that in Kalos as Post-Contents, like they did with Kanto for Pokemon Gold and Silver. It would be awesome to collect 16 badges again in different regions.
Dang it, my fault >_<Bulbapedia is wrong, I made that mistake before. If you look up the credits, on youtube it's actually someone else. I think his name is Takeshi Kawachimaru.
Man, I'm actually worried about the music after watching those Zygarde vids. I know it's just the wild battle theme, but it sounds all over the place. I was scared about the music being too happy thematically overall ever since the Aloha region was revealed as a Hawaii-based, summer vacation-like setting.
I thought the music from X/Y was great and high-quality with electric guitars and all that, but OR/AS sounded like a step down quality-wise aside from a few tracks. This music from the clip sounds more like the lazier OR/AS sound.
Johto suffered from Kanto being in the game with it's routes being short and compressed and dreadful level curve.
Exploring a mini region is better than a whole region.

ORAS soundtrack is IMO one of the best in the series but I can see why you would have that opinion. It's hard to make some rearrangements of music made for the GBA sound as lively as XY's soundtrack.
All I can say is hope for a rip of the battle theme that isn't from a low quality phone video in a crowded video.
I really don't think the second region in a game on the gameboy color 10 years ago being kinda barren is any sort of indication of whether or not they could pull it off today. Also it wasn't that bad. We all still loved it at the time.
But in hindsight it ultimately screwed over Johto and gave us a hollowed on Kanto in exchange. A lot of Gen 2's problems (like screwed up level curve and pokemon distribution) are either caused or exacerbated by the dual region setup.
I much prefer Gamefreak focus on one region, especially since their last few efforts haven't been all that great.
Well there are official videos on youtube already with crystal clear sound.
Major exaggeration considering everyone loves gold and silver except the most Pokemoniest critics

I agree. People who say that it would be like what happened in GSC are forgetting how much hardware constraints developers had to deal with at the time for the vision that they wanted to present. In today's time, developers would have so much more to work with that it'd be possible to do 2-regions while giving both regions enough of an identity, and a balanced level curve.
This whole idea that GF shouldn't do 2-regions because of what happened in GSC is very narrow-minded and unimaginative.

Thanks for bringing this up, Brawly. In the run up to HGSS it was the main thing I was hoping for, that they'd fix the bizarre pokemon distribution and leveling curve of the originals. Neither fix happened, which makes me suspect of GF's awareness of their games' flaws. It certainly didn't make me hunger for another dual region title.Brawly likes to Brawl said:They had a second chance to fix the problem about seven years ago, but they didn't. I'm not confident in GF's ability to do another dual region set up.
This ignores that cartridge space is still an issue today, since the regions are bigger and the assets and such take up way more space than they did in GBC era. Pokemon games are already some of the biggest games on the 3DS
From what I know, XY took up 1.7GB and ORAS took up 1.8GB. It's been reported that Nintendo has up to 8GB size cartridges (whether they use it or not is a different story, but the option is there).
