Xbox One S: 40% smaller, 2TB, 4K for movies/tv, internal PSU, $300

Dude, with all of those ventilation holes it's going to be at least $600. Have you seen them? There's literally dozens. Now let me continue to speculate about the pricing because of arbitrary stats.
Lols, them luxurious holes, shit's expensive gotta use diamond drills for that perfect hole.

Eh, it'll all get course corrected tomorrow. If anything, the misinformation spreading may result in a positive for MS when it turns out the Slim is cheaper than anticipated.

Hopefully, because it is very very very very unlikely it is $450.

Holy fuck, that thing looks amazing. I told myself I wasn't bothering with the Xbox or PlayStation this generation but this thing is gonna make it hella difficult to resist.

I think I prefer the look of the fat one. Something about the blocky appearance rubs me the wrong way, reminds me of a router or something.

is what I'm thinking of

Wait a minute....

It's easy to get excited about until you remember:

1. It's same old busted tired gaming power level.
2. Xbox One still have a terrible audio bug where all PCM channels are "used" whether they have signal or not. So no AVR processing upmixing can be done.
3. Xbox One can't bitstream audio. So no Atmos off UHD discs or streaming.
4. It needs and probably won't have Dolby Vision HDR support as well as basic HDR 10 for maximum benefit streaming HDR off Netflix, VUDU, etc.

Xbox One S ships to retailers starting tomorrow at $350 bucks, Xbox One OG is $300

This fall Xbox One OG drops to 250 permanently, Xbox One S drops to $300 temporarily

Next Summer Xbox One S drops to $300 permanently

Next fall Scorpio launches at $400

Looks cool, but cost will make or break this thing.
Depends on what you define as success, I'd say.

It's still not going to turn the tide of the console war or anything like that. A nice new SKU can help boost sales, but I'd say word of mouth from people already owning consoles will do far more work. I've had so many people get a PS4 because of our shared enthusiasm about upcoming multiplayer games.

This is spot-on, I think, except I think the S will be $399.

The more I look at it the more it looks like a knockoff PS4. It looks good, but I'm starting to notice some similar design motifs.

Yeah the texture looks like a ps4. There was no way MS was going to reveal scorpio a year out, anyone thinking this is delusional. The slim was a given after they were having a fire sale 3 weeks before E3. This will cost at least $350.

What do xbox gaffers think about their beloved brick being internal now?

i might pick this up if it has a uhd bd drive, doubt prices for standalone players will be much better for a while

woah didnt realize they were so expensive, thought this console sounded useless since why not just wait for Scorpio

but makes sense if you buy a 4K TV want a player for it
