Anecdotal I know but my work (Target) hasn't gotten in the 500GB models in months. In fact, I think maybe December was the last time we had any. We put in orders for more, but never get any. I think they're phasing it out. If anyone finds a 500GB model in a brick and mortar store, they better get it for a steal.
There is no chance the Scorpio is coming this year. They'd have sent out devkits by now if that was the case and as far as we know right now they haven't even decided on the target specs and instead have ballpark targets.I still think Scorpio is March 2017 at ther LATEST, if not November 2016.
One S = entry level
One Pro = enthusiast model
It'll be called Xbox One Pro
Why would anyone buy this with Scorpio coming out relatively soon?

No they will be looking to leave behind the One branding I bet.I still think Scorpio is March 2017 at ther LATEST, if not November 2016.

If games are still targeting base Xbox One, then no, dev kits aren't necessary right now.
AMD's 480 being ready to sale in June is no coincidence. I still think Scorpio is this year or March 2017.

Sounds more and more like Scorpio is a Q4'17 release. So I don't think slim sales will be affected as much. Curious to see what Sony is thinking now.
First it was the "it looks just like a smaller Xbox One", then "it looks just like the PS4".Looks like a white PS4 to me. If you can't beat them, copy them.

Moreover, implementing Scorpio specific features takes time and means they need to send devkits outs months in advance if they want to have titles to showcase the system with. They're not releasing 2 new boxes this year, especially when one isnt ready. Goodluck with getting a scorpio this year.

Which is it?
It'd be the cheapest UHD Blu Ray player on the market if it has that.
What is surprising is MS beating Sony to a Blu-ray feature when Sony help pioneer the format I guess having major association with the brand doesn't help like it should.HDR is part of the 4K UHD Blu-ray specification.
How big dat power brick, tho?
I'm curious why you say this?Because HDR is fucking garbage?

The white xbox one looks very modern and really aesthetically pleasing. I would say it's the best looking console out right now.

I feel you but it's still a selling point that MS are using. I mean Sony shouldn't be worried but it's as you said with so few out there MS's new Xbox one S will be among the few that will scratch that 4k media content spot.Eh, its not really a feature you have to race to get out considering how few uhd blurays are out there right now. Sony can afford to wait.
I'm assuming 4k playback. Considering uhd players just came out at 500, i don't think the manufacturer of the drive would let them get it at such a low price.
You are confused.Because HDR is fucking garbage?
Samsungs player came out at $399.99 and it has a big mark up on it. Its also made of aluminium, and its priced to gouge early adopters. I highly doubt these drives cost signuficantly more than the existing drives, plus they have to use a better processor which comes included in a console as is.
That samsung players price is going to drop like a rock when the consoles come out because they'll be the more attractive option overall plus they won't be riddled with bugs.
It's copying the Wii! It's white and has a stand!
Jokes aside, you grabbing one of these?
Because HDR is fucking garbage?

Yea, I think it looks fantastic.
This is different than the graphics technique called HDR (i.e. the thing in Half Life 2: Lost Coast).
Get your wallet out then.Agreed. If pricing is similar, I'll probably jump on the train myself. Son will be happy, he'll get my old one lol.
What? Are they applying "HDR" to yet ANOTHER separate thing?HDR is part of the 4K UHD Blu-ray specification.
why?Just include a DisplayPort, for the love of god.
